Nfl News Update

Jeff Garcia - QB - Lions
Eagles have reached an agreement in principle with QB Jeff Garcia. The long-rumored deal should be completed in the next day. Garcia is joining his fourth team in four years. Garcia's luster has worn off, but he's still an upgrade as a backup for Philadelphia. Koy Detmer could be released shortly. Mar. 15 - 2:03 pm etSource: ESPN.com
Chris Chambers - WR - Dolphins

Chris Chambers will benefit greatly from the acquisition of Daunte Culpepper.Miami's offense already called plenty of "throw it deep to Chris and hope for the best" plays. That's Culpepper's speciality. Chambers doesn't have the hands or on-field smarts of Randy Moss, but he'll do. Mar. 15 - 12:25 pm et

Daunte Culpepper - QB - Dolphins

Dolphins acquired Daunte Culpepper for a 2006 second-round draft pick after Culpepper successfully passed his physical Wednesday.Culpepper has told the Dolphins he is ahead of schedule in his rehab and "may be able to play before September." His 2006 fantasy value depends on his health, but Culpepper's familiarity with Miami's offense should make the transition smoother. While former Culpepper favorite Scott Linehan is gone, his offense remains. Mar. 15 - 12:20 pm etSource: ESPN.com

Matt Leinart - QB - Player

Matt Leinart is reportedly "dying" to be a Jet.The Jets are rumored to be looking at Matt Schaub and Patrick Ramsey. Because the Saints and Dolphins addressed their QB needs through free agency and trade, respectively, it won't be a surprise if at least one of the top college quarterbacks falls on draft day. Mar. 15 - 12:19 pm etSource: New York Daily News

Brad Kassell - LB - Titans

LB Brad Kassell met with the Jets Tuesday.Kassell notched 77 stops and an interception in 2005 with the Titans. Mar. 15 - 12:10 pm etSource: Nashville Tennessean

Nate Burleson - WR - Vikings

Nate Burleson is set to meet with Seattle on Thursday.Burleson is a restricted free agent who'd cost the 'Hawks a third-rounder and a contract. He floundered as a No. 1 last season in Minnesota but would push Bobby Engram to start in Seattle. Mar. 15 - 12:03 pm etSource: Seattle Times

Russell Davis - DL - Cardinals

Russell Davis met with the Seahawks Tuesday.Davis could be viewed as an affordable replacement for Rocky Bernard, who met with the Chiefs yesterday. Mar. 15 - 12:00 pm etSource: Seattle Times

Walt Harris - DB - Redskins

CB Walt Harris is slated to meet with the 49ers.Harris is a nickel corner who was cut by the Redskins last Friday. Mar. 15 - 11:55 am etSource: San Francisco Chronicle

Chris Hope - DB - Steelers

Chris Hope is scheduled to meet with the 49ers.Miami and Tennessee are reportedly the top two bidders for Hope's services. Mar. 15 - 11:53 am etSource: San Francisco Chronicle

Reggie Brown - WR - Eagles

Reggie Brown is now the No. 1 WR in Philadelphia.Brown, who looked good down the stretch in 2005 and has big-play ability, is now the go-to guy for the Eagles. If he's able to gain the favor of Donovan McNabb, the '05 second-rounder should be a top-15 fantasy wideout. Philly could still look at Santonio Holmes with the twelfth pick overall in April. Mar. 15 - 11:46 am etSource: Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News

Sam Cowart - LB - Vikings

The Redskins may be interested in MLB Sam Cowart.Cowart is a free agent and has a history with Washington DC Gregg Williams. If brought aboard, Cowart would likely man the middle and Lemar Marshall would move to the weak side. Mar. 15 - 11:36 am etSource: Washington Post

Toniu Fonoti - G - Vikings

Toniu Fonoti failed his physical with the Raiders.Oakland and the massive lineman had agreed on a one-year deal, which is now void. He returns to the free agent market. Mar. 15 - 11:32 am etSource: San Francisco Chronicle

Peter Warrick - WR - Seahawks

Patrick Ramsey - QB - Redskins

The Redskins and Jets are nearing a deal for Patrick Ramsey. The deal is rumored to send Ramsey to New York for a sixth-rounder in 2006 and a future pick. Ramsey would reunite with Lavernues Coles, his favorite target in the 2003 season. Mar. 15 - 11:02 am etSource: Washington Times
