I heard this on AFN's TV radio channel so take it with a grain of salt. The guy was a writer for one of the papers out in the Bay Area. He said:

Not to expect much from the Raiders for the 1st week or so of FA....I think we all know that already.

The Raiders are open to bringing back Collins for the right price and that Jeff George has been brought up as an option.....we know that too now.

The Raiders are trying to work out a deal to keep Woodson in Oakland but so far the sides arent very close when it comes to years and $$. But This is why you wont see the Raiders looking for a safety in FA.

That G Funuti (spelling??) will most likely be our 1st FA signing and done by weeks end.

Don't get your hopes up for Edwards the DE from the Lions, teams are offering more than Oak will offer.

It is rumored that Oak is interested in Larry Allen, there has been contact but no meeting set-up.

-My take on this. Most of the things he said were accurate the only thing that was really news was about CWood and Allen. I have read that Funuti will sign here but that he's coming off an injury and he's a bit on the chunky side. Still an upgrade as far as talent though. I'm on the fence about Edwards it could go either way and I dont really care, he's more of a 3rd down pass rusher and I dont think he's even as good as Burgess as a DE. Not an every down guy is what I mean. Allen would be sweet, that would be a classic Al move. Bring him in cheap cuz everyone thinks hes played his best football already and have him go to the Pro Bowl. Classic. The QB stuff is kind of scaring me Jeff George...c'mon!! Not the answer. I'm stationed all the way out in Europe so I get most of my Raiders info from here but I havent seen anything about Allen or Woodson period, not just on this board. Anyone heard anything?

my question/concern is open to bringing collins back!!!!! wow al if u did that ud lose a lot of fans.......

Woodson info is quite, may some truth to the matter, Woodson and his agent know he is not a viable option to any team other then the Raiders. Woodson does not last a season and no team is willing to pay the price or deal with his agent Poston! That is my take on it. Larry Allen has always wanted to come home (Bay Area), however on the downside of his career, may be a one year deal. There has been some rumor to Allen visiting. The Lions are heating up the money pot for Edwards, so he may not make the trip to Oaktown.

I had also read an article in the news section on this site, and the Oakland Raiders stated they wouldnt be first week players. That kinda sucks, I cant wait for a BIG name to come in here.

you are crazy funuti is prolly the best guard in FA right now this will be a great pick up

a defense with peterson, milloy, woodson, washington, aso, sapp, burgess, clark, morrison holy crap thats big not to mention kelly stu and routt. man if we could find a way to keep c wood and bring in peterson and milloy we would be unreal next year.

True dat!! When I was listening I was hoping for him to mention Milloy and Abraham. Milloy is very do-able, Abraham and Peterson are kinda wishful IMO, but I want em both of course. With a few additions we will be NASTY!!

funoti is cool. what the hell will we do with OLB and DE?? 4-12 again anyone??
allen would be a great ball palyer for us!
