Sean Taylor is set to go to trial next week he is facing 46 years.
He has 5 years left on a 7 year $18 mill deal he is only 22 years old.
"Joe Gibbs has a hard time relating to the modern type of player" In the words of John Riggins.
Gregg Williams said publicly that he stands behind the player (after the spitting incedent in the playoffs). But Riggins thinks the organization is running low on patience with this "me first" type behavior.
If they release him now the signing bonus is accelerated, but if they wait til June 1, they can pass the cap hit to next year. They may try to trade him now.

could be one of the best safeties to play the game. BUT is a head case and is facing 46 years in prison. another sad situation about a player with a abundance of talent

Taylor is a special player no doubt. If he hits the FA market, he is going to get big scratch. I would rather sign another safety. There are a ton of good FA's which will drive the price down. I think we could get a quality starter for a lot less $. I would pass on him.

I wouldn't take this guy just from the spiting incident. Spiting is done by a pus. If he felt so strong about it, he should have manned up and crack the dude like Tatum would have and waited for him to get up and knocked him back down. Spiting - Wus.

Throw in the gun charge. This guy has no dicipline and will not listen to the coaches. Forget it - talented fool (see Bam Morris, Lawrence Phillips, T-Ho, etc - all missing personal/team unity discipline)

While I might agree about "manning up" we had a player not to long ago that had spit in someones face, was at times a disciplinary problem and yet he still played like a monster on the field for us.. ROMO! I think Sean is a gifted athlete with alot of the wrong influences in his ear, if he gets his head and life right then I would like to see him in silver and black. Besides who other than the Raiders give this sort of player a shot? He was talented in College at the U and his hits are great. He could end up being more of a cancer than a help but only time could tell.
