Vikes Have Options For Culpepper..rams?

VIKES HAVE OPTIONS FOR CULPEPPER

Despite reports that the Vikings have found a trade partner for quarterback Daunte Culpepper, we're told that the team has multiple options.

A deal, as reported elsewhere and as we've confirmed, will be struck within the next 24 hours, and the transaction will be consummated after 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, because trades can't be made until the next league year starts.

As to his health, we're told that he actually is on track to play in 2006, and that he'll be ready for training camp.

Said one league source: "G.M.’s should be standing in line to get this guy and the smart ones are."

Stay tuned. Our guess (and it's only a guess) is that it'll be the Rams, and we predict that current starter Marc Bulger will be part of the package that gets sent to the Vikings.

I'd rather have Bulger then Culpepper.

This story has already been rubbished. The Rams are not interested in Culpepper. It's a net rumour, started by PFT'S admitted guess. It got credence becuase they were adamant for months that Pepp was a gonner.

It's a dead duck.

I'd be all for getting culpepper if and only if Oakland doesnt give up the house to get him. We need our draft picks. We have some positions that need to be addressed. Having said this, the best deal I could see Oakland doing is collins & a 3rd for culpepper. Even a 3rd might be high, but that would be the highest I'd be willing to go. If their smart minny would be able to take advantage of getting collins. They could just turn right around and trade him to baltimore.

If culpepper comes to Oakland....Great. I hear he should be ready for training camp, that should be real good. If culpepper doesnt come to Oakland, fine as long as we dont give up too much & we can still find a way to get rid of collins.

**As far as signing a Qb with an initial J. It's still to early. I dont really know if Oakland would sign culpepper, and still want to get rid of Tui. Walter & pepper would battle for starter, and Tui would do what Tui does.....ride the pine.

Let's work out a 3 way trade with Minnesota and the Rams and we get Bulger. I'd rather have a healthy Bulger then a hurt up Culpepper.

Forget Culpepper. Try to get Brees. If we can't get Brees, play Walter. If Walter turns out to be terrible, draft Brady Quinn next year. Problem solved, let's move on.

Damn why are there so many stupid people sometimes. Get Vince?! He hasnt thrown in the NFL at all. Cullpepper to Moss is a proven comodity. We dont even know if Vince can throw that well since he refused to threow at the combine. And it will take him at least 2 years to get the system down. You want to start a rookie qb? We dont have the def the steelers do or the running game so dont think we can have a Rothlesburger rookie come in here and change the team. Brady Quin? So what now we have to wait 3 years before our team starts winning? We already have a young QB for the future. If we draft a QB without even letting Walter play, we wasted a pick for nothing, like we did on Tui. Damn rookies....
