Adam Teicher, of the Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs FB Tony Richardson is eligible for unrestricted free agency on March 3. It appears Richardson will not re-sign with the team. He said, "I definitely will become a free agent. This organization has been great to me. It's allowed me to grow as a man and as a football player. I've got a lot going on in the community. But I'm open to playing somewhere else if I can't work something out here."


Cut Crockett and sign Richardson.. He is a true FB and a great BLOCKER.

Man that's some good news.

Cutting Crockett would free a bit of cap space to sign Richardson with no problem - a TRUE fullback like you pointed out.

I would be all over this and something I can really see Al/Shell doing. They know the need for a run game and we're obviously lacking a fullback. And why not.. sign another divison rival.

tony would be a great pickup for the team.i ove crockett for his heart and hustle but he cant block and is getting old.he would be great to keep as a short yd back but only if he restructures

It would be reallly dumb to cut Crockett, i mean, he might not be a probowl fb but the guy is money on goalline situations.

NO way should we cut Crockett.
And what exactly did John Ritchie ever do?
He never took handoffs...he caught a handfull of passes in the flat, and he bled a lot.
Crockett has never let this team down...he's money on the goal line, and the guy hits holes harder then a lot of starting backs.

How bout being a lead blocker that flattened linebackers to open up holes?

I think you might have taken the original comment as an attack on Crockett but I dont think it was. It was just stateing that since we got rid of Ritchie we havent had a lead blocking fullback.
