Carr-Raiders Rumor
Picked this up off another board

There is a rumour circulating that Oakland may trade their #1 draft pick to the Texans for QB David Carr. The Raiders would cut Kerry Collins who would probably end up in Jetsland. By having two of the top 6 picks Houston would sign Texas popular pick Qb Vice Young and either pick up a good lineman to protect Young or get a stud defensive player where they have a lot of needs.

I think a good young QB like Carr would do well. I like the kid, very good QB. Needs a team with more weapons, like us!

carr over collins any day, but i dont think id give up our number 1 pick for him. We have to many needs we need to adress through the draft to be giving away our first rounder. Maybe a 2nd round pick and a player

This rumor must have been started by someone in Texas. That is way to convinient for them to make all of the pieces come together, while we get stuck with a long, expensive contract. I see the Raiders trading up and thats about it.

No...I would not trade our first for Carr...thats crazy!

Carr is worth a 3 pushing a late 2nd. We would have to get a 2nd and 3rd in return for that trade to even be alittle fair.

This team has too many holes and we especially need the 1st pick to draft a great player. I would do it if it were a 3rd rnd pick and a few of our players but thats it.

Doesn't make sense because last week they paid Carr $8 million dollars to trigger the extension of 3 extra years onto his rookie contract. They had the option of paying him $5 million dollars to extend him an extra 2 years. IF they were planning on trading him they could have saved themselves $3 million dollars. Trading him now means they would eat that $8 million bucks in this years cap. Also, this seems like a old rumor that was floating around a month or so ago after Young first declared for the draft.
