I dont want Daunte here personally I mean dont get me wrong the guy is a great I mean excellent quarterback however last year he didnt show anything special. Not only that he has suffer'd a serious injury an he cost alot of money imagine if we do bring him in here trade or cut collins then in the Second or THIRD game he gets injured again we will be in the same boat we were in last year actually a worse situation because we would either have to give the ball to a rookie an hope he turns out like Big BEN , since Marques Tui will probly no longer be here in OAKTOWN next year. I really do wish the best for Tui though I really wish he could stay in oakland . Anyways back to Daunte I would love to see the rainbows to moss but trying to get daunte is too much of a risk we would lose a NUMBER TWO PICK I dont want too lose anypicks this year for an injured quarterback. An the one thing we will need Daunte will not give us which is mobility he will only stay in the pocket because of his injury so he wont be darting off for a four or six yard run like he use too. I think I want to go with a quarterback thats HEALTHY.

Dante is a proven qb, and a franchise qb too.... MInn doesn't have the same reciever core as we do so i think he will will have better #s here ...anybody can get hurt in any play ...s#*t happens... what if LJ gets hurt the 1st play or moss or woodson ... I would love to have Dante here and he will make us automatic contenders (thats what i thaught last year too)

I would also love to see Daunte in Silver and Black. The conflict with me lies in that we have yet to see how Walter will perform, another is that several sources are saying that any team that trades for Daunte will have to expect him for the 2007 season and any playing time in 2006 would be a bonus.
If we could get Daunte for a 3rd this year and some type of conditional pick next year then it would be worth the risk (providing that he has a change of heart and signs a cap-friendly deal.) This way we would be covering our hind end, if Culpepper can play this year, then great. If he can't, then we let Walter have a go at it. If Walter looks like a franchise QB, then we trade Daunte in 2007 to the highest bidder, and I am sure that a healthy Daunte Culpepper warrants more than an "iffy" Daunte. Either way we would win in this situation. Either Daunte is healthy and we have a top 5 NFL QB, OR Walter turns out to be a stud and we get a high draft pick or some defensive help out of a trade for a healthy Culpepper that we only gave a 3rd and a 5th for. JMO. --Of course, I do realize this scenario is reach. |

Im not sold on Walters ... what has he done besides beat some practice squad db's... Collins did the same in the preseason...Also he's just coming off a groin injury that he had to have surgery for...Kitna didn't look bad and i think he took the Bungles to 8-8 2 years ago... QB should be the first issue on the list

who knows what happens here, but one thing that i do know is that a QB who's game is predicated on being able to move and scramble is a dicey prospect just months after his knee gets shredded. On top of that, with how bad our O-line is, we would end up losing draft picks to get him, then not be able to shore up the line as well and you end up with a qb who had a bionic knee running for his life because the line can't protect him.
As much as i'd like to see us get a legit star taking snaps for us, i don't think that dante is the man. |
