Our RB situation

We obviously need some depth at that position, jordan isn't going to last too long taking all the carries himself. we need a running back who can come in and be a threat to take it the distance. I think that Michael Bennett would be a great free agent for us to pick up. He's shown that if he gets too many carries he's injury prone but in the right role he could really be an effective runner.

It doesn't look like minnesota is going to resign him i think that we should really consider going after him. on top of that, there is incredible depth at RB in free agency this year, that will drive the price down for him. he could be a really good pickup for us at the right price. fargas obviously isn't getting it done as our #2 back

I agree that Fargas isn't the answer and that sucks because I've liked him since he was at USC but he's just not getting anything done at this level. There are a bunch of options in FA this year and also there could be some 3rd or 4th round steals in the draft.

A smaller, quick/fast back with good hands is a need for us. Maurice Drew would be a nice complimant to Jordan.

We need to draft Joseph Addai in the third. If he's still there

We cant draft a small fast RB because if jordan goes down a small quick back prob cant carry the ball 20 times a game

SO we have to draft a stud back that can give Jordan rest but also be able to carry the ball 20 times a game if Jordan were to get hurt wich he seemed to do alot last year but played thru most injurys

So my guess is we should draft a RB in the 3rd or 4th rd we can get a good deal in the middle of the draft Lots of RB's coming out this year

Fargas is the answer - but he needs more than 5 carries (like 2005) per year to show it. Only 2 fumbles in RB and returner positions in 3 years. 4.5 yards per carry average. Cheap, STer also. What more do you want from a back.

Is Fargas going to pay for Norv ineptness?

You read my mind, ive been hoping for a Bennett as a backup Rb, he'd be Great as a #2 and if Jordan got hurt He'd be able to start a few games, he did make it in the Pro -Bowl one year and i think he had around 1,300 yds.

Plus he's gonna be super cheap because he hasnt played much recently, and due to the depth of the Rb's in the draft and FA.

What about Lee Suggs as a back up.... good size and skill, he'd be a great back to get 8-10 carries.....Also whats wrong with Crokett (sp)... he's seldon used with not too much wear and tear for his age.... and he's a downhill runner that can tire down a defensive line

i think we should just give jordan the ball at least 20times a game and see where that leads. I watched too many games last year where we ran less than 5 times in the second half and these were close games. I think Jordan will have a break out year this year and rush for 1200 +yrds. i dont see him as a weak point by anymeans but when you have norvell running d show what can you expect. If anything and the raiders were really serious they should trade woodson for a 1st round pick and try to go after lendale white who will have a great nfl career unlike bush

I agree 100% although we are in danger of turning into Minnesota West

No we havn't forgotten...that's why the backup RB position needs to be addressed through FA or the draft.

That's 2 fumbles in about 90-100 touches, not a good percentage. Not to mention the fact that he has let some non-major injuries keep him on the sideline. I would like to draft Addai or maybe Leon Washington from FSU, he is very fast and has good hands. Should be around in the 3rd round.
