If not, why? Is he not worth it? Petrino appearantly was. Isn't Art?

he got the money cuz Al Davis had no back up plan so that came in cuz he ran out of ideas and we needed a coach pronto !! just my opinion

al had no back up plan???

explain to me why shell was the very first person we interviewed? explain to me why we only offered petrino the job, he said no, and we hired shell. we NEVER offered wiz the job, he wanted too much control, we said we woudl get back to him in a few days and he just said thanks but no thanks.

sorry man, but you need to get your facts straight. shell was the first person we interviewed and the only other person besides petrino we offered the job to.

Good point Tilt. Many candidates were interviewed but only 2 got the nod from Big Al. We may not have gotten Petrino but based on his decision to stay put after his son vetoed the move, I'd rather have Art at the helm.

Art is the right choice, Art is probably the only person who can speak to Al and have Al seriously listen to what he has to say. Al respects him not only as a person and a player, but as a coach as well. That is evidenced in Al's statement that he let him go to soon in 94. I like the choice and expect great things from Art.

I think you are absolutely right about whiz and Ill also throw in Martz! They both came out and proclaimed to withdraw their names from the running. I believe this was only to save face because they both knew they wouldn't get offered the job!!

Living here in louisville and watching all of this unfold has made me realize that Petrino cant handle the media pressure. Im startng to believe that Petrino wasnt a good choice after all.

I think overal it was the right choice, while everyone here was on the Al Saunders wagon, me with Art Shell. When everyone here was on the Wiz wagon, me... Art Shell. I have stuck with this guy from the beggining. My order of who i wanted went like this:
Art Shell
Mike Martz
Al Saunders
........................I LOVE ART SHELL, he brings back the Oakland Harritage and we overal help the team!
