<Jan. 23> With Al Saunders and Rod Marinelli off the market, the Raiders are scrambling to find viable candidates. The team has interviewed Chargers receivers coach James Lofton, but the Hall of Famer is considered a long shot for the job.
One possibility could be Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt. The Raiders contacted Whisenhunt recently, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, but wouldn't be able to conduct a formal interview until after the Super Bowl.

Another name to keep in mind is Ravens QB coach Rick Neuheisel, according to Pro Football Weekly. Neuheisel, a former collegiate coach at Washington and Colorado, has been a guest of owner Al Davis during training camp on more than one occasion in the past.

Boller had an incredibly bad year. Just because a QB has two good games doesn't make it an incredible year. Two good games does not make up for 30 miserable starts. It was bound to happen sooner or later that he had a good game or two.
