If they Franchise Woodson his contract will be 15 Million. The Ravens would have to negotiate with him on a long term or be stuck with 15 Million. Hacksaw is a hack.

not too sure they would need another DB/Safety in their backfield. samari rolle, chris mcalister, and ed reed are some of the best corners and safety on the market. you sure it's not for jamal lewis?

WOW! Yea, I heard that too.
Apparently the Baltimore Ravens approached the Raiders about doing this trade. Very interesting. Reason(s) to do it: a) If the Raiders let Woodson walk, they're not going to get anything for him. b) Ray Lewis is still a BEAST and can still bring it. c) In a divison with the Broncos running game, LT, and Larry Johnson -- we BETTER be able to stop the run! d) The Raiders need a 3rd LB. e) He would have a positive impact on our young team. f) We might've finally found a way to motivate Stuart Schweigert to tackle somebody! Reason(s) not to do it: a) Ray Lewis' best years are behind him. b) He is 31 years old and with injuries it is unclear how long he will play. c) Huge contract will limit Oakland's already limited flexibility. d) Where do Danny Clark go? Does Ray Lewis play an OLB? e) In the deepest LB draft in HISTORY we could easily draft a top, young, LB! There you go guys -- plaently of reason to, and not to do this. What do you guys think? Me, personally? I'd do it....hate to see us lose a talent like C-Wood w/out recouping something in return. I'd re-work Ray Lewis' contract and go from there. SideNote: If Andrew Walter is going to be our QB next year, our defense is going to have to be much-much better, and probably carry us for the 1st 5 games or so -- Ray Lewis would give us that improved defense and also bring an EDGE to Oakland!!! Thoughts? |
