Breaking News: What REALLY happened with Al Saunders!

Guys,

I live in Los Angeles and today on AM 570, Lee "Hacksaw" Hamilton said that he was able to dig up some inforamrion on what happened to Al Saunders coming to Oakland as our HC.

Apparently, he canceled his flight into Oakland (which was supposed to be today) to discuss contract, terms, and assistants with Al Davis and instead entertained Gibbs offer from the Redskins -- signed it -- and the basically left the Raiders hanging.

Now in my opinion -- alot of what Lee "Hacksaw" Hamiltion says is very subjective but there's something about this that seems very objective to me.

Bottomline: I think Al "Fire Marshall Bill" Saunders BURNED us again!!!

There you have it -- with so much confusion going on, I thought you guys would want to know.

I personally don't think he got the offer in the time frame he wanted and got nervous that he wasn't getting the job. So he went to DC and got a big cash deal from Snyder. I for one am glad he went to DC. Didn't want him anyway.

I thought al saunders COULD have done good things with the Raiders -- but he would've had to shake the "Norv Turner" comparisons.

Personally, I think we can do MUCH better. The list below are full of candidates that are better than al saunders:

1) Bobby Petrino
2) Ken Whisenut
3) Jeff Fisher
4) Jimmy Johnson (Philly)
5) Jimmy Johnson (Former Dallas Coach)
6) Cam Cameron
7) Mike Singletary
8) Russ Grimm
9) Jeff Tedford
10) REX RYAN

We'll be fine -- I just hate that Al Saunders screwed the Raiders - again!

I heard that he was supposed to be in Oakland on Thursday, but Gibbs went to KC before he left and offered him the cash. He didn't want to wait and see what was going to happen. Honestly, you can't blame him, he has bills and family just like we all do. The old saying is true--YOU SNOOZE, YOU LOSE!

Personally, I believe that there are not to many coaches that want to be Al Davis' puppet. Especially, for minimum wage and no control.

He's making 7 million over 3 years in Washington. That's more than Norv was making as our HC.

And thank God his tired ass took the job with the Skins. Because if Al Davis plays his cards right and hires someone like Whisenhunt, we'll be LIGHT YEARS ahead of where Saunders could have taken us. He's nothing but an OC. That's what I said from day one and that's what I'll always believe. If he were thought of as anything more than an OC throughout the league, he would've landed more than one (San Diego job) of the 15+ HC interviews he went on. THANKS GIBBS!!!!!!
