Raiders new HC

Might be Steelers OC Ken Whisenhunt. He might be the darkhorse to be the next HC. I heard it on the ESPN radio this morning. The person who said the Raiders were interested in him works for the Raiders in broadcasting department.

He also said that Pat Hill WILL announce today that he is staying in Fresno. But I've heard other reports that Hill was in the Bay Area and that he's going to hold a 10:00am local time press conference.
I thought I pass it along.

How do you guys feel about Whisenhunt? Do any of you live in Steeler land and could shed some light into his talents and background?

I've heard the Whisenhunt rumors on the Radio too. Interesting, may have to go look him up.

Wishful thinking.

So now Al Davis is thinking of hiring a run-oriented OC with Randy Moss on the team? He might interview him if they lose next Sunday to pick his brain, but IMO won't be a candidate.

I trust WDR....he says Al Saunders will be our next HC...and he will be proven right in time! Until then, expect to hear every name in the book as a possible candidate.

I don't know about you but I watched the squeelers pass the ball all over indy last week. Once they had the lead they commenced to running it down indy's throat. I like that approach.

I was also thinking the Steelers OC or DC also when the playoffs started. Glad someone mentioned this.

Wouldn't be upset about the hiring if it were to be. I really like what he did with their TE Heath Miller. CA could see significant play if he were to arrive.

Steelers OC a canidate?

from fanball.com

THE NEWS
The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt has surfaced as a possible candidate for the Raiders head coaching job.

Our View
Whisenhunt fits Al Davis' predilection of an offensive-minded coach, but his Steelers background may not jive with Davis' long-standing addiction to the deep ball.
