Saunders to the Rams???
DOWN BOTTOM FOR LONG STORY MADE SHORT
Was just makin my daily rounds on espn.com mainly to check out the progress in our HC vacancy only to get some very unwanted news. I never really pay attention to the videos that they play in the top right corner of the nfl section but after a breaf glimpse it caught my attention. It was a video clip of John Clayton's take on the remaining five head coaching vacancies. I figured that maybe we had made progress and were moving along to working out a contract for Saunders, but that simply wasn't the case. Clayton said that Raiders were a little bit worried at this point, mainly because sources are saying that the Rams are now pushing for Saunders and that they may be ahead of the Raiders on his list. It's no secret (and hasn't been for yrs) that Davis is a very behind the scenes type of business man. But when your first interview is with a high powered offensive type of mind in Saunders, and then your second is already your minority interview (the ass. from the chargers I do believe it was), it's pretty obvious that Al has his guy.
Now everybody knows that Pat Hill has ties to the Raiders and that it may be a possibility that he comes to the Raiders. But with the history of Al's HC's, I'm almost 100% sure that Davis has Saunders #1 on his list. He's a cordinator that actually gets production out of his weapons, and pretty damn well I might add. IMO there's nobody Al wants more then Saunders, that being said, I'm a little worried at this point just like Clayton said. I'm not sure if theres any other canidate for us that could turn our team around like Saunders may be able to. The only way I see this team becoming the powerhouse of the AFC West again is if he gets a hold of this offense. We obviously won't be LEAD by our defense, so we need to get the offense back to where it was when we had gannon, the pass happy days. With the offense pop'n off for over 30 a game I don't see any reason why the D wouldn't step up also.
But anyways, to make a long story short, Saunders is linked to the Rams and the Raiders may be back to square one if he takes the job. What's next if Saunders doesn't bite and Hill stays at Fresno??? I'm starting to get worried that this may turn into another Norv scenario, leaving the RAIDER NATION thinking once again, what if.
