Kurt Warner and Drew Brees

Quote:
The Raiders might pursue a quarterback such as Jon Kitna to replace Kerry Collins if he doesn't agree to a restructured contract or the new coach wants a new look at that position. Kitna is a dependable veteran who would come cheaper than Collins and give the Raiders a viable option while they waited for the development of rookie Andrew Walter or for a proven starter to become available. They also would be interested in Kurt Warner and Drew Brees--if the Chargers opt against re-signing him--if it came to that. Beyond that, they will target some linebackers and offensive linemen in an attempt to bolster those positions.

Fantasy Source Spin: Daunte Culpepper and Steve McNair have been the top quarterbacks mentioned as targets for the Raiders. We'll see if something happens. Wouldn't it be fun to see Culpepper and Randy Moss together again?

WTF??? Why the hell would we want to get daunte "my name is fumbleitis, but my mom has a commercial" culpepper????? we already have enough problems with the qb keeping the ball away from the other team, DON'T WE??? The Raiders need to stop playing "rent a quarteback" and either develop Walters or draft a a new prospect.

Brees is said to be in talks to sign long term. Minn's new coach also wants to keep Pepper and have him start. He stated something like "an injury shouldnt cost you the starting job". Sorry no link, this info just comes from reading KFFL for hours on end.

I don't care for the John Kitna idea at all, he looked terrible last week against the Steelers. Kurt Warner would be the lesser of two evils, because he could help Walter develop. Warner is certainly in the twilight of his career, but I think he can still be a productive backup QB. He also has the experience of being a veteran who's lead a team to the Superbow and won. John Kitna is a HUGE step in the wrong direction IMHO.

hmm, Culpepper has only been one of the better Qbs in the league the past few years. He had a bad year this year for sure, but he still has more talent and ability than any other Qb who will be available and I dont think its even close.

I'm all for signing Culpepper.. if he gets traded around.

I'd take Brees as well but I think it's safe to say he's locked up in San Diego for a while now. What about someone like Rivers?

Warner? I don't know. He still has something left in the tank but I think if we did get him, it's gonna be Kerry Collins all over again.

Basically, get Culpepper.

Cullpepper's injury is supposed to be pretty serious. Its said to be a 12 month injury and most likely he won't be ready for the start of the season. So even if Minnesota wanted to get rid of him, they are probably stuck with him for another season.

Hmmmmm sign Culpepper who just tore his ACL,PCL,MCL and may never be the same again

Or

Maybe Mcnair who is at the end of his career and battled Injurys the last couple years

Or

Go after Rivers who has proven nothing looked like crap in the game brees got hurt and was a worse prospect then walters coming out

Or go after Kitna Maybe Warner wouldnt be terrible Carr no thanks harrington NO and so on and so on

Or we can sign a vet as a backup and develop Andrew Walter

I'll take walter while all you other ppl yell about washed up vets and rookie QB's who are worse then what we have and Rookies who are coming out this year who we have no chance of getting.
