Espn insider is saying Vanderjack could be let go and without a fight b/c he doesn't fit their offensive priorities.

I say hell yes, give him Jano's contract. At least we know he can make them.

screw Vandy, overrated!
they have been tryna shop vandy for a while now, they have to sign other kickers for kickoffs cuz Mike cant do it.. I rather keep Jano! some of us seem to be basing Jano on this season alone, and forgetting the seasons where hes only missed 3 kicks, and had kicking percentages in the 80s, 100 percent on PATs... if you focus on his one bad season your making a mistake, cuz there are TONS of kickers who are great now that have gone through the ditch that Jano hit this year and they have bounced back, why doesnt Jano deserve a chance to bounce back? what has he done to us that says if you have one bad season were gonna kick you out of town?

Did you see Janos kickoffs??? Never past the 15...

you mean costed us 3 games this year!?

I counted Two.. and he didnt do a terrible job on kickoffs... 61 yard average, 11 touchbacks, 24.5 return average, could be better for sure but nothing to complain about except the 11 touchbacks.. hes had better years then this! im not gonna kick Jano to the curb cuz of one bad year.

My biggest concern with Jano is not that he had a terrible year, its that he didnt seem to care at all when he missed, he missed in preseason a bunch and shrugged it off becuase it was preseason.... I want somebody that who if they miss and especially a bunch in preseason, goes out and practices what they are doing wrong.
Im sorry, but a lot of Janos kicks werent far kicks. He had a ****ty year, but he has a horrible attitude and a bad work ethic.

Everyone has a flat season at least once in their career. Give Jano a break and see what happens next year. I still think he's a solid kicker.

jano averaged 63.8 yards per kick off (tied 13th in NFL).
Mike V. didn't do kickoffs for Indy, Dave Rayner/Jose Cortez did for the most part.

Ok Jano has had an off season but Vanderjagt is a better FG kicker than Jano and why Vandy cant do kick offs I dont know.

Jano +50-43%, +40-67%, +30-88%, +20-95%, +10-100%
Vand +50-66%, +40-79%, +30-91%, +20-97%, +10-100%

Listen I was thrilled when we got him. But maybe we can bring him in to give Jano some serious competition. To say hey your about to go out the door.

romeo13 I agree. Jano should be kicking off and the ball go through the uprights. Something isn't jiving.
