It's evident to me. . .

The Raiders' #1 priority in the offseason is to rebuild their offensive line. We can blame Turner all we want, but if we can't get the ball over the goall ine with Zack Crocket in three runs from the one, and one more run by Collins one foot away, then we've got major problems in the offensive line.

We don't have a dominating center. Adam Treu was blown away on the fourth down play. We need a center that can maul the other teams and dominate the middle of the field. We also need a guard who can move, lead sweeps and block more than two or three yards down the field. Neither Badger nor Stone is the answer.

Take the current group minus Stone and Badger, add in LeCharles Bentley and Steve Hutchinson as free agents, and we've got a good offensive line, if we move Gallery back to his natural position, left tackle. Sims can be one of our guards. Now, we have Gallery, Hutchinson, Bentley, Sims or Grove and Walker. This is a good offensive line, with solid back ups, including Treu, Sims or Grove and Slaughter.

Secondly, I am beginning to feel that Doug Gabriel, not Jerry Porter, is our second best receiver. Gabriel fights for the ball, runs excellent routes, and is a great possession receiver. Gabriel impresses me with just about every game he plays, while Porter drops a lot of passes and doesn't seem to fight hard for the ball.

1 agree all you said about the o-line but i disagree about porter, you forget gabriel all the years also drop ball, it's the reason why he has less time play for some weeks, dont make judgement just in 1 or 2 games. i think moss. porter and gabriel must return and i hope to see morant also. i like williams too. it's clear the o-line is bad, i think is the worst o-line in the raiders history, 4 years ago we are amazing with robbins, midleton and mo collins. we need 2 new og, bigger and with some mobility. but you must to be realistic it will be impossible too bring by fa 2 og. i think if we must bring 1 fa it must be lechalres bentley 6-2 313 to play rg. and draft defense players in day one, mario williams, darnell bings and in third round spencer havner. at qb kurt warner for one year, after walter. finnaly bring a tru hc with power, and davis please let's the hc coaching. on defense we are horrible againts the run, we are too slow. we need an olb and a new ss, a true one darnell bings.

exactly!!
the giants have poor corners as it is, Gabriel was up against there nickelback, Porter had the #2 guy most of the game, Moss was getting most of the attention.. this is why Gabriel is better fitted as the #3 WR cuz hes a mismatch there, Porter and Moss see most of the attention and do good against them.. Porter had 950 yards in 14 starts this year with all the crap thats been going on with the offense and starting the season slow due to a hamstring injury.. Porter can be a slot and flanker WR, Gabriel is only a Flanker.

Agreed.
But.

Turner should have tried a pass at some time.
Probably first down. It would have stopped the clock at the very least.
Turner and his offensive (very offensive to me) schemes have been pitiful all season.
Abandoning the run.
A lack of slants. Not using Moss properly.
With Jordan dropping the ball, why not have thrown to Anderson more? He's 6-7 for christ's sake.
No hurry up.
No urgency when we were within reach in some games.
False starts by skill players.

NO EFFECTIVE GAME PLAN.

That twat Shanahan seems to have a script that the team know and can change tempo if needed at the start of the game. Our team seemed to be waiting until the last moment for a new idea every sodding play. Turner and his scheme was total and utter barry white.

And if you don't know, its rhyming slang for ****e.

Gabriel vs. Porter

You all are right about Gabriel being lined up on the nickel back. . .but. . .

It seems that every time Gabriel is given a chance to start that he comes through in a big way. He also seems to be a much better possession receiver than Porter, which complements Moss' attributes very well.

We can argue about which receiver is better. . .No matter what, we have three very good receivers.

Which presents the following question: If our receivers are so good, why were we unable to get the ball to them on a consistent basis? Collins deserves some of the blame, but our OL deserves more of the blame. We've got to rebuild this OL if we're going to compete in the AFC West.

i think we have a talented line, but i think their main problem was confidence. I think throughout the season it was put in their heads that they "suck." getting better OL players would help, but i think a new coach will encourage them in the right direction. Collins also has to get on them. I remember seeing Gannon fired up if they give up a sack or miss a block. Most QBs that are leaders get their OL fired up, i just dont see motivation from the OL, coaches and qb. then that brings up what everyone has been talking about by getting rid of the coach and collins

Our number one priority way ahead of anything else is getting a head coach with some damn vision of how to build our team into a winner again!!!!
Obviously some of that will include solidifying positions like the o line, and who our damn number two receiver is!!!
But first things first. WE NEED A LEADER. Oh, and Al.....When you find your guy......

GET THE F**K OUT OF HIS WAY!!!!!!!!
