Moss rumors start...
On another board a man mentioned that he heard on espn radio this morning something about Moss wanting out and being moved. After the Raider dump Moss they would go after T.O. This is wut he said he heard true or not...something to think about.
Heres wut he said... " First off....i'm NOT trying to incite a riot here. Now, having said that, driving into work this morning, I caught a bit of Sports Talk Radio for the Orlando/Tampa area on one of the local channels. Unfortunately ESPN Radio doesn't come in well until you get well into the Tampa area or I'd listen to Mike and Mike, but I digress. Dan Cillio (Cilio? who's really Silly-Oh!!) who professes a tight relationship with Al Davis and the Raiders, stated that "reports out of Oakland has the Raiders dumping Randy Moss at the end of this year.....eating a $10million cap hit (Rob Shipe - would that be correct??).....and signing "Mr. Ego" aka Terrible Owens to a contract." His opinion is that the Raiders, with a history of signing the 'problem children' of the NFL would be better off with Owens' effort vice Moss' taking off of plays (an opinion that I personally do NOT agree with btw.) I called the radio show and got the intermediary phone handler/technician and asked for the source of the report - my military intel background kicking in of course - and was told that the report is out of TAMPA?!?! Again, once I went to work and got on the Unclassified Net, I 'googled' for information but have as of yet not found this 'rumored report.' I ask my diehard brethren to hook me up and see IF there is some substantial thread of reporting along these lines, as I have as of yet have found NOTHING to go on. I appreciate your comments/support in finding this probable fabrication and see if it has any "TEETH." Yes, I know ANY reports that deal with our Raiders are treated sceptically for OBVIOUS reasons, but I did want to share this news with the clan. As for me, and I've said it before.....No T.O. Keep Randy and Jerry and Doug and Ron and Johnnie.......that's who we got and who can FLY!!" Heres the link to the board.... www.**************** [ having touble wont let me show link...its www.Raiderfans.net...maybe spacing it will work..just put it all together when u go to it] Also.... By Jim Trotter UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER December 9, 2005 RAIDERS OF LOST ARC: Raiders coach Norv Turner is respected for his play-calling ability, and his call to bench QB Kerry Collins for Marques Tuiasosopo was one of his better recent decisions. Privately, team members contend Collins had not displayed a willingness to look downfield because of concerns about poor protection up front. He also was said to have become disenchanted with wideout Randy Moss' imprecise route-running, preferring to go elsewhere with the ball than take a chance that Moss would not be in the right place and the pass would be intercepted. In this time the franchise is in DOES THIS ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE???? Raiders need a new HC who could take atleast a year to put in his system and fill all the need postions. I for one WANT MOSS OVER T.O. ANYDAY...I DONT LIKE T.O. But is this the best choice? It kinda makes sense....think about this.. 1. dump Moss for draft picks [ many holes to fill...have porter and gabriel + Curry] 2. get the problem child T.O., Raiders have history with problem childs [ would any other team really take T.O.???or are we the only ones stupid enough to??] 3. Moss dosnt want to be here...with a new HC coming in [ hopefully soon ] and the young Raiders...do we actually have that good of a shot to give him that ring? Its scary to think about this...I WANT TO KEEP MOSS AND NEVER EVER DO I WANT TO GET T.O. But it makes sense that the Raiders would do this... Idk...think about it...I sure am. Thanks for sharing. I live in SF and I've yet to hear those "Reports out of oakland". I chalk it up to the fact that it's the raiders and even though we're bad, we're unpredictable and people love to speculate.

Now that WDR has made his statement, I think Moss will return next year!

I'm a Moss fan, pure and simple, i don't think he's trouble in the way TO is, he is not however a guy who will keep his opinions to himself, i see Moss as a player with god given talents who finds it hard to accept that others aren't as good. I floated the idea a day or two ago that it might be best for everyone if he were traded, IF we can't get the best out of him, nothing more, IF we can't get his best. I got called a 'hater' and someone who 'blamed' Moss for this seasons crap offense. So i'm thinking twice about getting too involved ina Randy Moss discussion again as i was grossly misrepresented last time. My feeling is he should stay, i'd love him to stay, but only IF he's happy, AND we can really get the best out of him next year, if not then he's huge trade asset NOW at 29, but his value is decreasing. Please don't post to me about his injuries, the o-line, coaching, offense, Qb, i know all that, and i've taken all that into account. I love the player, respect the man to a degree, would love him to get back to his best with us, BUT he's not expendable. I'm not saying trade him or not, just putting a point of view forward. |
