If a coaching change is made...

What about a defensive minded coach such as Ron Rivera? He has a great petigree, played with the 85 Bears, coaching the Bears defense this year, and I beleive he was an assistant for the Ravens (I may be wrong on that). He is a no nonsense kind of guy and I believe the Raider Defense is on an upswing with all of the young talent that we have at all positions. This may not be a popular choice but look at what the Bears have done this year, no offense, but a defense that keeps them in every game this year. I would think that he is definatly worth a look.

Martz would be a horrible choice, I have seen some of the stupidest play calls from him over the past couple of seasons and he cannot manage a clock for nothing.

Brian Billick would be an interesting coach due to his ties with Moss, no to mention he definately has a fire that only Jim Mora Sr can match.

Jim Fassell is almost like a Norv Turner, offensive minded and stubborn as hell. No need to let go of Norv if we hire this guy.

Sean Payton this guy is just waiting for Parcells to be done in Dallas, I think that is why he turned down this job in the first place last season.

Personally I would love to see Art Shell come back, I just don't see him coaching in the NFL again. No real reason why, just a gut feeling more than anything.

Can you guys think of any future head coaches waiting for a chance? My vote is for Rivera. :helmet:

Ron Rivera sounds like a good choice. I would love to have a good defensive minded coach as the HC.

I hope Al really does his homework (always does, no worries) and picks an awesome, awesome coach for 06' that plans on staying for a while.

Doesn't anyone get it? Regardless of the talking head put in place, Al Davis has been the coach of this team since Tom Flores left- he controls it all!! Anyone who doesn't understand this by now are kidding themselves- why do you think 'ol Chucky left?? He left because he was tired of being Al's little puppet, just like Norvell is now. You wanna make a coaching change? Then ask Al to hang it up, 'cause until he passes, he is the man approving the playbook each week- PERIOD.

I think Al's the best thing to happen to the Raiders. Hell, Al is THE RAIDER. It wouldn't be the same without him. We've won with him, we'll be fine.

And I'm pretty sure that Norv isn't a very good head coach, so he does have something to do with it.
