    Tui to the Jets anyone?

Just a thought. 'West Coast' team down 2 QBs... history of recent trades (Jolley)... could be a fit.

B.Volek, Tuiasosopo, Rattay (opens it up for Smith) etc...

Jets may be looking for a career dude now, Pennington didnt have a big arm, **** he couldnt break a pane of glass with his fastball and now back to back major injuries. He is not a young pup...the guys game is predicated on accuracy and thats it...Jets may be looking at a Pennington career that will never be the same and a guy with a noodle arm to begin with with a nothing arm now.

I think Vinny may not last long. I like Tui, but he does not fit our offense right now and I would like to see him finally get a shot.

    Deal Tui to the Jets?

While right now, he is our #2 qb, the fact of the matter is that Tui's time is limited here. Yes, the Jets just signed Testaverde but they're still looking around for better talent at the qb position and have been turned down flat. I like Tui and always wanted to see him get his shot here, but look at two of our three qb's; Kerry Collins is a tall strong armed drop back player as is Walter.
It's not hard to notice that we didn't draft a mobile and accurate qb for the future when we grabbed Walters. I just can't see Tui fitting into Raider plans except in the case of emergency. And the fact of the matter is that if Collins goes down, we'd be sunk whether it be Tui or Walters at qb. We might eek out a win or two more under Tui, but the playoffs still may as well be on the moon. In the meantime our rook qb would get some serious experience working in this offense.

Tui is a prototypical WCO qb and the Jets run a prototypical WCO. I don't know what we could get in return for the man, but the Jets are pretty desperate. I'm thinking maybe a #2 draft pick or a #3 and a #4.

Maybe it's not a real possibility and there's certainly others here who know how these kinds of things work much better than I.

    Opinions?
