Don't think the City will pay for anything until they get out from under the current PSL fiasco.

A few thoughts:

A's also need a stadium. I dont see them building 2 new stadiums.
A's need a stadium more than the Raiders
ANY new fields need to be built exactly where they are now. A Jack London Baseball field would be very nice, but for football, just tear down what we have now, and rebuild.
If they were to tear down and rebuild they could just play the games at Cal for a season.
LASTLY... YOU THINK TICKETS PRICES ARE HIGH NOW????

This will be interesting development, but since the A's are already planning their new ballpark, where will this leave us?

The tickets run between $47 and $91 from OFMA.

If you get them through Ticketmaster you will have to pay their charges on top of that.

Here's a prediction: unless Al Davis pays for the stadium himself, he will never get a new stadium built in Oakland. This being said, the Raiders are not leaving Oakland after 2010 either. The most logical solution is that the A's move out of the HOT (which looks feasible as of late), and the stadium is renovated and made into a football-only stadium. This I can see happening. However, I've also heard rumors of the Raiders building a new stadium somewhere in Livermore. There is a s**tload of land there. Plus it's close enough to Oakland to retain the city's name. The 1st option is more realistic of happening. The 2nd option is a mere faint rumor at this point.

I hear that... The coliseum is fine for football, a 100Mil facelift never hurts. But the "Moseleum" is horrible for baseball. A new baseball field needs to be rected near Jack London square. It would absoutly rejuvinate the A's fanbase. If the A's dont get a new stadium... the wont be here much longer.

Is there a link where we can read the full text?
I wonder if it will be multi-use like the Coliseum. I know the A's are desperate as well, especially with their new owners. McAffee has to be one the most decrepit venues in all of football, and frankly, I don't know where they'll get the money for a new one. The city seems to be pretty stubborn when it comes to this issue. This topic and attendance issues will decide the future of both franchises in Oakland between now and 2010. I think they should acquire land right across the 880 and have a stadium on the waterfront for both teams.

I see nothing wrong with the stadium we have now, but that's me. Where are we going to get the money to pay for a new one? Raise ticket prices (HA!)?
