FS Lance Schulters

AP reports the agent for Titans FS Lance Schulters said he plans to have a face-to-face meeting with GM Floyd Reese in Nashville next week to talk about his client's future with the team. Agent Brian Levy said he's hopeful Schulters will be a Titan in 2005 but knows his high cap number ($4.2 million) could make him a potential post-June 1 salary cap casualty. Schulters, who missed most of last season with a foot injury, is healthy. The Titans paid him a $250,000 roster bonus in March, though his base salary for 2005 is scheduled for $2.75 million. The Titans need to create more salary cap room to sign their draft picks.

This is someone i've really admired for a fair few years... His best season was in 02 when he picked off 6 passes and racked up 86 tackles with 2 sacks.... He suffered a season ending injury early last year which has led to this dispute over his contract...Otherwise that pro bowl standard base salary would be justified for this guy...

He is a big hitter, with good size/speed and coverage ability. He has plenty of experience including some playoff games under his belt and would certainly help Stu Schweigert along in his development.

If cut i certainly would like to thing we'd bring him in for a good look. With the lack of an established #2 CB that side of the field is gonna undoubtedly be taking a pounding...Stu would cope, but he's young and still not the finished product...Lance would certainly strengthen that side of the secondary consequently stregthening our D.

Money is an issue ofcourse, but if Chad Brown can be signed for 2mil (1mil base salary for both 2 years of his incentive-laden deal), this guy is certainly within our reach i feel.

He would be a good addition, Money is always a issue, no matter who we sign. I just wonder how some Money is gonna be freed up for the draft picks?

His salary would be too much for us to take on with our current cap status. We have not even signed our Draft Choices and have not even signed Curry, T Johnson and M Anderson yet. We have virtually no salaries to restructure. We will have to make a couple cuts June 1 to even sign these players. We can't even talk to C Wood until July 16th about his contract.

Remember all the bogus trash he talked before the Raiders-Titans AFC Champ game and the debate between Manning and McNair for MVP. His quote before the game was Mcnair is the MVP Fvck Peyton. The dude talks a big game and doesnt back it up IMO.

i would love for us to sign him, and about the money part....i think moss restructred to 2 something million and said he would further bring it down to 1 mil if the team needs him to, so if al likes him we can def. have him

as far as I know, Curry has been re-signed. Anderson and Johnson are the only to who have not been. I think that Shulters would help our team out, I like lamont thompson better. But if all else fails cory hall is still available.
