I wouldnt mind it but arent we paying him too much to play safety?

I think he would be a great FS but we are paying way to much for him to play that position. He needs to stay at corner for at least another year. Hopefully help train our new guys and that will allow Stu to have a full year at safety under his belt. Stu should be our safety for the future.

Two years ago the Patriots used Ty Law as a FS. He was free to recognize coverages and pick up a man, or drop into a zone, or move up into run support. Ty Law did very well in that position as he is a ball hawking corner. I feel that if we can be comfortable with Nhamdi and Renaldo Hill as our two corners with Fabian Washington coming in as a nickel or dime, Woodson would be fine as a FS. Remember, just because that is the name for his position in a particular defensive package, it doesn't mean he isn't covering anyone. His coverage skills will still be utilized.

i actully see it as a possibility for all the times the opposing team doesnt have a dominating wr. and when a dominant #1wr comes around, he should cover them.

FS covers TE on alot of passing plays so that would be good against Gonzo and Gates maybe shockey this year. Personally I think its ALSO a ploy to get him to sign a long term cap friendly deal. If he switches to FS, how many teams are going to pay him CB money next year?? Remember he will hit the big 3-0 next year.
