Raiders looking to acquire first-round pick
So says the Sporting News:
The Raiders remain without a first-round selection in this year's draft as a result of trading for wide receiver Randy Moss. However, don't be surprised if Al Davis acquires one for a proven player such as cornerback Charles Woodson or by packaging a second-round pick with a veteran player. The Raiders still are in need of a defensive player or two who can make an immediate impact. . . . http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/ |

Raider IMO has more success drafting in later round than in the first.

This years draft is overpriced at the top. Look at it this way.....The top 5 players LY would be the top 5 players again this year
manning > Rogers Taylor beter than...you get the drift.....meaning the top of the board will / might overpay for talent received at the same spot. Moss isnt a freebie......we did well.

We have already had the best off-season ever in Oakland. Who cares about getting some overpaid also-ran in the first round. Get a stud LB in the second, and some secondary help in the third. Take best available Defense in the 4th, and get ready punch the world champs in the mouth on opening day with the Boyz we have now!!! OH hell, and go get Howard for the 10 million dollar knee bruise wearing #24!!!

As it stands we got:
2nd Round pick #6 (#38 overall) 3rd Round pick #5 (#69 overall) 4th Round pick #4 (#105 overall) 6th Round pick #8 (#182 overall) - from AZ pick #11 (#185 overall) - from DAL pick #38 (#212 overall) - compensatory pick #40 (#214 overall) - compensatory i think this year's draft has potential players in every single round, moreso than other years. Hopefully we pick up another round 2-3 pick because that's where there's quality, but seeing as we've always picked up late round gems, it's fine where we're at. Maybe we don't need a 1st round pick?
