is confirming that Phillip Buchanon has been offered to the New Orlean Saints for Darren Howard straight up... I heard this yesterday during Hacksaw's headlines around 3:15pm.

Please, Al, get this deal done. We need a pass rusher, and Howard is one of the best pure pass rushers in the NFL.

I don't know how we can afford Howard, but if AL and Lombardi can find a way then we need to do it.

Well we would certainly get the better end of that deal imo! However, I'm not sure if even the ain'ts are dumb enough to do that deal straight up?!

id hate to see p-buch go, but for howard straight up? damn now thats a great deal for us. So who would our CB's be? Woodson, Hill and As? Hope we throw Dyson in the mix too. Then we could roll Woodson, Dyson, Hill/As BUT WE STILL NEED LB's!

Sorry to disagree with you, but I hate PBuch. Anyone who doesn't want to be here can leave. If we can get a perrenial passrusher like Darren Howard for it, all the better. Note to Philip Buchanon, "If you are not with us, you are against us and will be dealt with accordingly."

If there is any truth to this rumor, then it would lead me to believe that a trade of C-Wood is also in the works. There is now way in hell that we could afford both of their contracts. The only way that would be possible, is if both Howard and C-Wood were to sing long-term cap-friendly deals. And at this point, I just don't see that happening.

Can the Raiders cut Woodson after training camp? Because this deal cannot happen with Woodson's salary. I don't know what AL has under his hat this time but if anyone could pull this off it would be big AL.

The 10.5 million is guaranteed against our cap, unless we trade Woodson, in which case his new team would be charged with 10.5 million unless they can reach a long term deal with him.

If the Saints are dumb enogh to trade all of their picks for Ricky Williams, then they're dumb enough to trade Howard for Buchanon straight up! I hope this is true!
