According to the rumor mill on NFL.Com Al Davis Expects Gannon to retire. I think that Al is saying Gannon leave on your own or I will force you to leave. I have to wonder is this such a good move.Gannon would be a great backup QB, I have faith in AL so i am sure he will do what is best for the team. And let the season begin My wife and I since F-Ball season ended.

Gannon doesn't want to come back. He is only waiting to get his 250k and he'll be out.

Gannon's neck is too damaged to take another hit. He's waiting (for the benefit of the Raiders) to declare retirement after June 1st so his cap hit will strech beyond 2005. Thanks for thinking team first!!!

Who knows what will become of Gannons future.I don't know, & neither does any of us, know the degree of damage.And what has healed.If he can heal & play without serious damage.Bring him back.If not, he needs to think of his family.

Gannon was one of my favorite Raiders. People point to him yelling at guys etc but the guy wanted to win more than anything else have to hand him that. He will be missed but I would rather miss him than have him risk living the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Rich we will miss you have a great life and maybe come down and coach us one day. Now we need to put our faith in Kerry Collins and support him as we would Rich.

Gannon played very well when he was the starter and I hope that he will stay and be the backup in case Collins goes down. I still believe he can have a couple of good seasons if he's protected in the pocket well enough. If he does leave, he will be missed.

he was 1 of the best i whish he could stay and play but health and safety is first aldo he set the example by reestructuring his contract putting the team first and making others follow his example.
