You have to remember that we would have to have the $$$ to accomodate the acquisition of Surtain also. It's not as easy as just giving up a 2nd round draft pick. The C-Wood situation would definitely have to be resolved first.

i'd rather give Surtain that kinda money than Law, but i'd much rather us resolve Wood's situation, draft to fill holes and then pick and choose a few bargains after the June cuts...

My only complain about Surtain is he is a walkin flag. Now just imagine what will happen if he goes to the Raiders. But with that said, I think we should take a look at this guy. Being that Big Al founded the bump and run, he wants a physical cb. And that is not "no-showtime" P Buch.
The new rule (made against Raiders)now will help him. I think is it is only 15 yards for pass interferance.

For Now Woodson Is A Raiders And He Will Play Here, We Cannot Bring Another Big Salary At Cb. We Need An Ilb. Also Woodson Must To Be Honest And Play Well Next Year, If He Knows A Bad Year, Any Team Will Give Him A Big Contract. He Must Give 100%. Ilb Is The Priority, We Have Just Clark And Tim Johnson, At Olb We Have Sam Williams, travian Smith,Derrick Burgess And Biamila Who Can Play Olb In 3-4, But Inside Johnson Is Not A Regular, We Need Ilb To Help Clark

We already traded our first round pick. Now you want to trade our 2nd rounder too for a 30-yr old CB. NO thanks.....I'll keep the pick and draft a LB to help our defense.

Tom nailed it- no trade. Surtain is on the chopping block. Too much bad blood shopping him out, don't do the Phins a favor. We're not going to send a two for hima nd be left out on the draft.
They wants a 3rd round pick for him. KC is trying to go that route, they have a 2nd rounder and if they wanted this deal it would be done. Proof that Surtain isn't getting his value on deep stingy position market. Why push this matter? The Phins have to cut him and are waiting for June 1 and a higher bid. Call their bluff. His salary bonus will cover the front office staff supporter persons' payroll this quarter. Miami is trying a less-damage approach but clearly is clearing cap. Like the Sharper trade- their teams are into a must-cut mode so we can hold our ability to trade. Sharper's numbers are more than hartwell's per year guaranteed- he has to take a pay cut to move. Ask for a two, expecitng a three, so the team who pulls the trigger "looks good" in the offer. We'll give a fourth rounder for him tops. We have a supplemental that should go that round for Coleman/Barton/Garner compensation? Offer it. Something's better than nothing, and only if we secure negotiation rights. Think of the regular compensatory picks. You make a market rate for a player and get the pick for the round he was drafted in. That is as good as these deals can muster. Second day slots, or they would have already happened. We don't have for Sharper's deal UNTIL HE IS CUT.
