The Texans are breaking ties with LB Jamie Sharper, but it isn't because Sharper can't play anymore. In fact, he led the team in tackles last season and had 50 more than the next closest player. The problem is Sharper is 30 and entering the last year of his contract. The Texans don't want to extend Sharper's contract because they are focusing on youth. And the thinking is they can get something for him now in a trade, as opposed to letting him walk next season as a free agent.

...Meaning that they haven't changed their minds about keeping him after recently releasing other starting ILB Jay Foreman.

YEP Rumours are they're only after a 4th round for him- which is a phukin steal IMO....
I'd give them a 3rd in 06 just to make sure we do get him... He's got alot to give- JUST READ THE SIG!

IMO this guy is even better than Ed Hartwell. We could really use his experience and leadership and his playmaking ability.

I would give a 4th for him in a second. You don't get much better and the guy has got a lot of experience. Our defense would look much better with him on our team!

Now that Hartwell is gone I hope Al focuses on this guy! A 4th. for him??? DONE! Hopefully he would be into doing a "cap friendly" contract. This guy definately wouldn't hurt us...
