Shelton and a first round pick before we could even consider it.

I Honestly Think That We Have A Legit Line, Why Would We Need Shelton, If Were Gonna Trade Woodson Get A Pick And A Corner Or Lb At Least, We Need Those More Than A Tackle Right Now.

We may not have much of a option , it is starting to look like we might have to make a deal like this just so we don't get stuck with CW's 10.5 mill contract.

This info must be bogus. Woodson is a NON-EXCLUSIVE free agent. Doesn't that mean that the team that makes an offer MUST include two first round picks? Now, the Raiders CAN opt to give him away by INTITIATING a trade with someone for less-than-first round picks, but that would defeat the purpose of tagging him in the first place. The only exception is that there aren't any suitors willing to give up first rounders and the Raiders want to rid their hands of Woodson even if it means taking lesser calibre players ala Randy Moss and the Vikings.

I hate to break it to you, but we ARE stuck with Woodson's 10.5 mil regardless of where he ends up this year. That 10.5 mil franchise tag offer sheet is GUARANTEED money that the Raiders are responsible for paying. Just like Randy moss; the Vikings are responsible for his HUGE signing bouns when he got that big ~$75 mil contract. We only have to sign him for yearly salary and THAT is being restructured.

Thats not true because the 10.5 is his base salary he has no signing bonus so where ever woodson goes his contract goes with him!

If Woodson independently signs a contract with Arizona, then we would have to option to match it or take the two first rounders. The Raiders can trade CWood to Arizona for a deal. They wouldn't get as much in that case, but when was the last time one team signed another team's franchise player and gave up two first rounders? Frankly, I do not see tightwad Arizona paying CWood the money he and the Postons want.

We just need to let this piece of **** go for a bag of balls, some kicking tees, and a gatorade cooler!
But seriously; We need to get what we can, and just get out from under the 10.5 million. I think this would be a good deal. Not a great deal, but good. Like Minnesota learned; problem players don't get fair value anymore. We would have 2 second round picks, and 10.5 million back in the bank. We could make a run at Ty Law who would cost less than Woodson. We could also use both of those high 2nd round picks on defensive players. There will be plenty of quality players at the top of the second round. We should just make this deal and move forward with our offseason. This would give us so much flexability to make other possible deals as well. Just do it and let Woodson go to Arizona. He deserves Arizona the piece of ****!

I believe you are wrong. Yes, we are stuck with CWood's 10.5 mil if we were to cut him, from that standpoint the money is guaranteed. But if we trade him then the tag goes with him and the other team must pay his 10.5 or sign him to a long term contract.

I would do this trade in a second. Our offensive line needs help, if we pick up Shelton we can move Simms to guard and we can use the second rounder to upgrade the defense. The biggest benefit, however, would be moving CWood's contract so we can save money on the cap and address some other needs.

Shelton would give us depth in the offensive line. But, I'll rather take Dansby(lb) instead. He's young and has alot of speed. But the Cards aren't stupid.
