If I were Meyer I'd say thanks but no thanks!!! and your last sentence is the very reason... If Al wants to win consistently he has to give up this idea he can and will control his coach. Without autonomy no Raider coach will have much success.

Good read,I say look into that possiblity next season..I don't think Norv is the answer as a head coach for his past record would indicate he is not cut out to be the head guy but rather as a cord. of some kind..I'm all for wholesale change's if it makes this team better and more competitive once again!

Yep Al needs to give the coach control to make his team.

I don't know how likely this is, but I would love to see this happen. Eight weeks into the season and I have seen enough.
We need to replace currly mullet Ryan and his creative (stupid) defense as well. |

I posted this this morning in the Rumor Mill. It is from Pro Football Talk.Com. They often post some wild stuff. I was looking for Willis to confirm or deny.

al needs to either grab a clipboard himself or just back off and give these guys a chance to succeed...i love al, but this is getting old...numerous opportunities to have successful coaches and we screw it up everytime...please not another gruden situation, norv is a coordinator at best...bring in this guy and get this ship going in the right direction...let the coach....COACH

I think the fans should get to vote for the coach. Let's look at it this way. We as fans are sort of like taxpayers right? Since we buy tickets, beers, pay for parking, and buy merchandise. SO in a way you could look at that revenue as "taxes". Let's say Al Davis gets to pick 3 coaching candidates and then we all vote. We pay their salaries, but we have no say? We go to games and support the team, but we have no say? That sounds like a one way relationship to me. Some fans (and I don't include myself) are very football smart and I think we would do a fine job in choosing a coach...
I feel like I'm taking it in the shorts by this organization...
