Would the Oakland Raiders Pursue Nick Fairley... | Gather

In a league dominated by quarterbacks and wide receivers the Raiders find themselves old and unreliable at two of the most important areas on a defense. That's why their eyes could watch the Lions soap opera closely. For all his problems Fairley is exactly the kind of defensive tackle Oakland needs to back up and eventually replace Seymour. His inside pass rush will also help the outside rushers and make life easier for Spencer and Bartell. All this only works of course if the Raiders coaches can bring Fairley under control.

Nick Fairley isn't a total solution for the Oakland Raiders but he would become a big help for their NFL future once Richard Seymour retires. Whether he and Mikel Leshoure get dumped by the Detroit Lions is one of the many stories to watch in 2012.

Don't buy it myself... if the Lions dislike the guy enough to dump him, McKenzie doesn't seem to be the kind of guy to go for a reclamation project (even if we had cap room, which we don't).
