Heard a trade rumor with seattle on another message board

I heard that the seahawks are offering us Shaun Alexander for C-Wood. What do you guys think? The guy is from seattle who made the post on the other board and said there has been talk about it up there. Personally I like Alexander but wouldnt do the trade especially if the Ricky rumors are true.

Nah.

Alexander is entering the last year of his contract, so we could just as easily end up in this same situation (hold out) with him. RBs come and go. Elite corners are another animal entirely. No deal.

I heard a rumor on the Cardinals board that the reason the Raiders got rid of Brown was because biletnikoff wanted to play another couple seasons and also that we only got Ted Washington because we wanted to trade him and Woodson for Fitzgerald plus give them a 2nd rounder in 2006 and $18.35.

too funny.
But Woodson for Alexander if there was any truth to it I think the Raiders would consider it. I think the longer Woodson holds out the less the chance he has to stay a Raider. But this is more likely specualtion by fans.

No deal. We're sufficient at RB. 2 Shutdown corners, this is a necessity.

Yeah, except it's not fantasy football. Woodson is an EF player. Seattle would not only have to pay up the ass for him because of it, but they would also have to not like Shawn Alexander. Woodson would have to accept the contract and the Raiders either match and keep, or he goes. NO WAY would seattle do that deal. I don't know what Alexander's contract is like but if it were as simple as tit for tat, I'd go for it. But it's not.

I disagree.

This is why we brought in 5 other DB's. The team has always been leary of a Woodson hold out.

I say we only do the trade if Alexander agrees to a longer contract. Isn't that how we acquired Roland Williams 3 or so years ago?

Let Woodson go to the Hawks where he can be paid. Alexander is better than anyone we have on our team.

You know....

We have 3 1st round draft picks at Wideout. Do you really think the Raiders intend on keeping all three of them? Perhaps we can in the near future but realistically Al will trade/cut one of them before it's all said and done.

The more I think on it the more I begin to wonder if those rumors are true...we have a lot of DB's in campe, folks.

Where are we gonna get the 2 shoutdown corners?

Now on a serious note. I now think you at least let one or two preseason games play out so both sides know what they got. The hawks might already know, but I'm not sure we know what we really have running yet. So one we may not need him and two we get Rickey next year any way.

But if we look really weak at RB and this is on the table, I'm considering it for sure. I would be saddened that the "Face" of the Raiders is owned by the Hawks though, something odd about that one...
