Dont know if this was already posted, but here we go again! According to the ffmastermind news page the Raiders are trying to talk Barry into playing again. How many years has he been away? It must be at least 5 years. He would be nothing now like the old Barry.

Interseting...but unlikely. Barry has stated NUMEROUS times that he isn't coming back. Plus, isn't he still under the contracual obligations of the Lions? Or that the Lions hold the rights to Barry as the Redskins did with Dieon Sanders in 2002? I could swear that I remember reading the Lions had no intention on releasing Barry's rights. Hence the hostility between the two parties.

If the Lions DO hold his rights, Barry would have to clear waivers first. There would be a good chance that a team (The Chargers) would pick him up before we got a hold to him. Likely just to ****-block AGAIN like they did two seasons ago.

Barry wouldn't even be an upgrade over our current RB stable at this point. Too far removed from NFL and too old.

Don't be so sure! 5 or so years of rest on a body that was rarely hit. This is a gamble I would take in a minute. He would only have to carry the ball 10 times a game with our backs. If he did show some of his old flash we could up the carries and see how it went. I imagine he would come fairly cheap because he wants the NFL record. This would make me very happy.

He could've been lying, but I've seen Barry state numerous times he could care less about the record, all he wanted to do was win a Super Bowl. But, regardless this is a waste of a thread. Barry's not coming back and I wouldnt want us to sign him if he did. Let's move forward.
