The only way I would deal for Burress is if he agrees to a contract extension before the trade. I don't want a wanna-be prima-donna type player leaving or demanding big bucks to stay after this season.
But ...since we open in Pittsburgh that would be a nice revenge game for Plexiglass if it happens

Just say no.
Burress has attitude/work ethic issues, drops too many passes and rarely plays hard. He's Randy Moss minus the talent. Plus, he's a free agent after this season. Gildon is washed up. The past four years his sack totals have gone from 14 to 12 to 9 to 6. |

Kultan, Don't forget we have Gabriel as well.I know he's in the 6' area.I do agree though, we need to develop our in house guys first. We may have a lot of talent & would never know b/c we keep bringing in others.

Gildon's nickname among Steelers fans is "GilDONG!"
We already have an over 6-foot, blazing fast WR that already has a wonderful work ethic in Jonnie Morrant! Who needs Plexiglass? Just say NO!!!

gildon might get revitalized with a new team he was a really good player once, maybe we could squeeze one good year out of him, as for burris, i'd rather see some in house development, i think we have some young talent that could be exciting, i think we've been missing the yac with brown & rice they rarely shake tackles anymore & lack the speed to break away, they still run great routes & what better teachers for young wr's to learn from - line backer is still a concern so gildon shouldn't be overlooked if the price is right.

if gildon could come at an affordable price i think that would be a good acquisition, burress, no, as a few have stated, work ethic and attitude sucks. remember that one game where he caught it and fell down then got up and spiked it, but no one touched it and the other team picked it up and the steelers ended up giving the ball away. what a dousche bag! that has to be one of the dumbest plays ever.
heck no on burress. |

Gildon is washed up just because of his sack numbers ? Look at the other LBs on there team each and everyone can be a pro bowler.... mabey he gots low numbers because of the other LB that are a bit better... Hes one of the top LBs in the league ... sure we should take him if its only a reasonable trade...

First of all we don't need Plexico. We have got a nice stable of Wr's. Second; we don't have to trade for Gildon. The Steelers are going to release him on June 1st. I wouldn't mind bringing him in though as long as we could get him cheap and give him an incentive laden contract. That way he wouldn't cost us anything unless he produced for us. Which if he did I wouldn't mind paying him. But absolutely NO TO PLAXICO!!!!!!

The guy is a pass-rushing specialist who offers little else. If his sacks are down, he's essentially useless. The guy's never had more than 75 tackles in a season! A total of 33 linebackers had that many or more last year. Gildon was 92nd among linebackers in tackles last year (coincidentally matches his number). So, if he's not getting sacks and he's not making tackles, exactly what makes him so good? It's no accident the Steelers chose the great Clark Haggins over him and will cut Gildon come June 1. Maybe the Raiders can sign him for the veteran's minimum then. Trading for him would be lunacy. |
