Anyone think C.Woodson playing a WR role 20% of the time?

He stated on the NFL network, that he would try out!

Question is -- Could we afford an injury to C. Wood? - He may be too valuable to us on the defensive side of the ball.

Look, he did not play offense when he came out of college, with a great offensive coach who had the reigns of the offfense, it was tried minimally if that...Why would someone even try to do this to a veteran CB who has established himself as a top flight cover guy?

I think that is great!
Woodsen is an all round stud and if he wants to play WR that will drastically improve team speed at WR. He has shown he has great hands so even in the odd chance that he gets hurt playing WR I think it is worth it especially with our added depth at CB

why? it's not like the Raiders have a severe problem at WR. Porter returns, Rice/Brown on occasion, probably more so on 3rd down, along with maybe another guy who can step up into the opposite WR spot. I don't know why the Raiders would want C-Wood on offense, for something like one play a game. Great for the fans, but is there any real point? I don't think Charles Woodson is a better receiver than any of the guys that are listed as WR's on the roster - he's probably a better athlete than many of them, but there's more to being a WR than just running and catching, this isn't street football.

I'd rather see him focus on being the best cover CB in the league again, than to go out there for one play and draw attention. It's like the Chargers game a few years ago, 1 catch, or Deion Sanders in the Super Bowl vs. the bolts. More for show than anything. If the Raiders had big problems with WR injuries, or lack of production, I'd welcome it...something like Deion Sanders with the Cowboys, playing both ways. But at the moment, no need, no reason.

Thanks for your Input...I do not think C.Woodson will be like a deion, but 1 or 2 plays on OFF. a game or from time to time would be could be a game breaking play?

Woodson needs to concentrate on getting better at CB instead of worrying about playing WR. IMO.. He is one of the Wolverine players who believes in his own hype.

C Wood playing anywhere besides on the defensive side of the ball is absolutely OFFENSIVE!
