Would Culpepper come out of retirement to play for NE?

Just a thought. May have mentioned in the 8535168 other Brady/Pats threads. But Culpepper wants to start, he and Moss have said they want to play together again, and Cassel aint gonna get em far this year. Anyone think this could happen? Sounds like they are gettin desperate if they are bringing in Tim Rattay for a workout. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. It would be interesting to see Daunte, Moss and Jordan all on the Pats and make the game later this season in Oakland much more fun.

I heard they already had Chris Simms on a flight to NE for a workout. If Culpeper decides to come out of retirement to play for the Pats I would support him. (BTW, i hate the Pats)

I actually heard an announcer (sorry don't remember who) ponder Culpepper as a back-up IF Brady goes down ...
This was BeFore he got hurt ... was thinking about the possibilty coming off the foot injury through the preseason.

It was very prophetic.

Culpepper will make the call himself, and offer to play for the league minimum. That is if he's smart, but he's not so he won't be playing again.

I thought of this as well. I'd say he cannot do that after the explanation he gave for his retirement. If he said it was due to lingering injuries or whatever he could easily decide to give it a shot but: He explicitly said he felt mistreated and misunderstood and that he doesn't want to be the one who has to wait for a fellow QB to suffer injury in order to get a chance to play. Hence I don't see any chance that Culpepper plays for NE.

your last couple sentences, i know its what he said so i'm not attacking you, but, my ex-wife and I said vows at our wedding and all that good stuff. what i'm getting at is anyone pretty much says anything these days and basically doesnt mean it. he's basically telling us that even if the pats call him sign him etc, that he is going to turn the job down? yea right!

Culpepper will be a Patriot by the weekend. Count on it. It's a done deal.
