Coincidence...I think not.
Sports - Raiders insider: Asomugha presents wider view to youths - sacbee.com
Last year he was in Atlanta checking the city out. Seeing if he likes the city because he was going to be a free agent and Atlanta had money to spend. This year he's in the Boston area and NE needs CB help with the loss of Asante Samual. I know the Boston area has some great universities but so do a lot of other cities...without NFL teams. Could something be happening with the Patriots. The seem to be our biggest trade partner over the years. Could the #7 pick, out third we gave them last year and a second either this year or next be a possibly trade scenario. Al will want a kings ransom. We still haven't signed Aso yet while aquiring Hall and signing him to a contract. I smell something brewing on draft day.

Crap, I hope the package is a good one. What, are we trying to singlehandedly make them better? Then, why exclusive franchise him?

Aso is not going anywhere this year, next year anyone's guess.

I don't think it's Aso on the block. I'd say he's one of the 2 untouchables on our D. The other is Thomas Howard. Every one else is good to go.
Huff has been on the block since the nfl meetings.
Washington and Routt are available because of our trade for Hall.
Morrison? As part of a package, he could go.
Burgess? He's not happy w/his contract. He could go.
Who else would anyone want?

OK, my initial sticker shock is over and I have thought about it. One thing I find working against this happening, is if the Pats wanted to dole out big cake for a DB, they would have kept Samuel. I don't see them giving up a pick/player package, then shelling out market value for Nnamdi. So unless Nnamdi wants to take a big pay cut, which he may if he wants that ring bad enough, I don't see it.
EDIT:
On third thought, I think it is, or at least may very well be coincidental. New England has it's own allure, especially for an educational trip. He may have been scouting, but if he scouted ATL, he didn't end up there, so...
(but I am a little worried)

So that Al has control of who he talks to. He did the same thing with Woodson and should have traded him. Al does not want Aso going to the Cheifs, Denver or San Diego.

Yeah, that makes sense.
Semi side question: If you apply the regular franchise, and someone makes him and offer, you can match it right? Or get two firsts if he signs, right?

This is a total rumor aside from the taking kids to NE area. Aso Franchise Tender already counts against our cap number. He has already said he will not hold out. Do you think NE is going to pay him a boatload of cash. They are one of the cheapest organizations around. Why do you think Samuels is not there anymore?

Ne is going to be paying big bucks for a # 7 pick that they really don't want on a player that has never played an NFL game. Pay a little more money for a player that is better then Samual and you know what your getting.

Dude, I am trying to reassure myself, stop shotting down my points!!!! JK
That's a good point, but they usually draft pretty well, and it's a matter of giving up the pick AND paying the dough. But we will see, I hope if it's real, Al asks for too much and NE backs out. Of course if it is real, it likely means Nnamdi flat out doesn't want to play here. Oh well, we'll know in a week.
