What do you know? Another OCHO CINCO thread!
Listening on The Blitz (SIRIUS 124, I know, another plug) one of the DJ's spoke to Chad Johnson off the air, and the not-so-soft-spoken WR told him "I've got nothing more to say, you know I'm outta here," referring to his status in Cincinatti. When asked where he'd like to go, 85 said "you know I'd love to go to Oakland." Sounds great, so far...
I'll open this up to you guys. First, I would like to have heard it from the horse's mouth, but it's a story, nonetheless. Secondly, am reminded of another pro athlete who demanded a trade and was really down on his team in the preseason. HIs name is Kobe Bryant, who whined and whined last preseason about the Lakers trading Andrew Bynum for Jason Kidd, or "I'm out." Finally, 85's desire to come to Oakland makes me think that, if he's going to be on a bad team, he may as well be paid a lot. All prior reports had Johnson looking to be traded to a contender because he's fed up with losing. Now this.
This makes me think that he's just making noise so Cincinatti's front office listens. But one thing's for sure, this radio station is not Raider radio, it's a bi-partisan nationally syndicated station. So it's not like every team has a rumor about Chad that's been featured on national radio.
If we do end up trading for him, who do we trade? Your thoughts?
