I agree, Bush will be great this year. With Bush, Fargas and Rhodes we have 3 backs who can be more than competent in the back field.

As for everyone who keeps saying this person or that person can't stay healthy, let me point out a few facts. All running backs take a beating now days, the days of one back carrying the entire load is over. If you look at last year, there were a ton of top flight backs who missed time. Steven Jackson, LT (missed playoff game), Peterson, Larry Johnson, Jacobs, Cadillac, Addai, Ronnie Brown, Rudi Johnson, Marshawn Lynch, etc (you get the picture) all missed some playing time to injury last year. Guys get hurt, that is why you need depth, but just because a guy gets banged up and misses a couple weeks doesn't make him fragile or a bad player.

I've been saying it from the day before we drafted Bush.

In 3-4 years the Bush the NFL will be talking about will be Michael.

It's not like he was watching TV and eating bon-bons last year. He was working out non-stop and was scrutinized by the trainers and coaches. Yeah, he couldn't practice with the team because of his status, but he was by all accounts in playing shape even before the season.

The show featured Kirk as their guest (first-time caller) call for the hour, and he gave them a little insight on the Raiders RB situation.

If you haven't heard Kirk Morrison do interviews, he's pretty good. In a nutshell, Captain Kirk called our Micheal Bush the next Brandon Jacobs! If this is true, I think he deserves a chance at seeing serious playing time next season. Personally, I'm a huge Jacobs guy because he's the type of back that doesn't come along very often. The guy's 260 (in his thighs) and is A MAN. Similarly, they both share injury problems. But when healthy, Jacobs is a sure-fire 20/100 bruising RB. If I want any of the Giants players, I'd want Jacobs. And if we have him in Bush, then I see no reason to draft a RB this season.

PLEASE keep this thread about BUSH, not some RB from Arkansas. Anything but that. If you want to make bush jokes? Go ahead! Love hearing those. Just don't make this about the other guy!
I am glad that Kirk is excited about Michael. I don't think that he has been able to watch Michael in any kind of real action to be able to make this determination though. Was Michael ever allowed to practice with the first team in pads? Until he has, and gets into some games, statements about what he could do are not accurate. I am pulling for the guy, I love his passion and work ethic as reported by Louisville. But until we actually have a bruising 260lb battering ram back who can carry for a good average and a lot of carries during real games, we don't have one. There is nothing wrong with looking to bring in more help if needed. I am not saying this as proponent of the back-that-shall-not-be-named. I'm not one. Just saying that planning on a lot of production from Michael is not a safe thing to do right now.

if thats true (hes doing better than our obese qb...j/k) then thats half the battle the other is getting hit and hitting. reading the play before during and after. football instincts that may have rusted away.....talking about the gym is just one part of a football player...im not degrading it either.

No doubt the interesting part will be when he gets on the field in pads with people from another team who want to rip his head off.

Just listening (reading) to the info LouisvilleR8R has shared with us from Michael, I have the feeling he's going to be the one ripping heads off. Axe to grind and all that.

Here comes the Louisville Express... better get off the tracks if you know what's good for you.

I appreciate your comments. No, I don't know if Bush has gone up against the first team D in any form, with pads or without. You'll have to ask Kirk. What I DO know is that I respect a player's take before any by-stander anyday, because the players ultimately know what their peers are capable of on the field. You are assuming Morrison has never defended Bush in practice, but I am assuming that those comments Kirk made are from experience, which makes neither of us right or wrong. There's a lot of excitement about the potential surrounding Bush, from players, coaches, and most fans. These comments from Kirk just add to that excitement for me, and I wanted to share it. We're in a good RB situation right now, and with Bush healthy like everyone says he is, we'll see how good he can be this season.
