If it means trading the #4 pick then I say NO

I'd give up future draft picks like the original trade proposal stated, Stu, Washington and hopefully either Jordan/Rhodes, or hell, even both.

Hold on to that #4 pick and draft Run-DMC and have an unbelievably explosive offense.
I know this is what Al David wants.

What I am not sure about is if Johnson has any pro-rated signing bonuses left and if so if our salray cap get hit by it. I would not think that it would hit us in that in doing a trade pro-rate signing bonus are escalated to the team team that is trading the player away. If it hit us as well that would be double dipping and does not make sense. Of course any contractual bonus that are not paid as of yet would be our responsiblity. (might be affordable)
I think Chad would restructure for sure or sign a whole new deal to leave Cincy.

I'd much rather draft at #9 and take a player like Derrick Harvey. Kid has got some serious skills. Ellis may even be available at #9.

I would trade future picks for Johnson. Retain the #4 and draft McFadden.

Here's another reason...

Cable is a great coach who can improve players and a whole OL. So he could 'make-do' with talent he finds from the back-end of the draft. ZBS is like the Tampa 2 defense. They both utilize average athletes/players. The system > the player.

Whereas Kiffin/Ryan need talent injected. We've already seen many Defensive and Offensive transactions (but only a couple OL).

So imo....McFadden, C.Johnson, and with acquired picks in the mid-late rounds look at various positions (like C, FS, RB, TE, DT, DE)

Please, Johnson is a superstar and Fabs is nothing but a good young prospect. The value just doesn't balance out. I'm sure the Bungals could get much more in value.

The trade in this rumor is basically a high second round pick + Washington for CJ. Which sounds like they could get more too, but it isn't just Fabian. If any of this were to happen it would be closer to the other rumor, future 2nd, future 4th, Fabian, and Schweigart. But it's all rumor, so take it with a lot of salt.

Considering our recent draft selections I actually might do this even though Ive said hell no before. Imagine chad as the #1, Walker as the #2, Curry and Carter in the slot. That would be the best WR core in the league if everyone stayed healthy. It still would hinge on how well Russell plays.
