Exclamation Jets contact Raiders to trade up to get McFadden ?

…The New York Jets scouts have gone into Fayetteville for interviews with Arkansas running back Darren McFadden, amidst reports the Jets are trying to trade up to the Raiders 4th pick to draft him; the Raiders want the 6th pick and pass rusher Kenyon Coleman.

Kenyon Coleman? The same Kenyon Coleman we took in the fifth round of the 2002 draft? I don't see much value there. Wouldn't that basically be giving them our fourth for their seventh pick? Didn't Coleman just sign a 5yr $20mil contract for the Jets last year?

This one is walking like a duck...

Yea that Kenyon Coleman we drafted in 2002

im all for it if Chris Long is off the board as well as Jake Long and we land an extra 2nd and 3rd possibly

Then We'd be in the range for a Clady, Ellis or outside chance of Gholston

i would personally want to land Dorsey if the Longs were taken

Kenyon Coleman (former Raider draft pick) is a marginal DE. He had a great year last year. I don't think this is enough to move back 2 spaces. I don't know if McFadden is going to be a great player in the NFL but I would prefer not trading him to an AFC team. I would perfer moving farther down the draft and getting additional picks in later rounds like 2,3 etc.

^^^I agree with you. If you havent, read that article in the draft room from SI's Jim Trotter. I think that guy is correct in his article.

As far as this rumor. I dont like it. I think teams, if they have any sense, should be offering packages of picks to the Raiders. We need draft picks!!!!

If McFadden is there though, I hope AL drafts him. I hope that happens, and i hope nyj doesnt leap frog us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(go for one of the other rb's nyj, save yourself some loot!!!!!)

Well, I think this is pretty whacked, but Pro Football Weekly has us passing on McFadden... and the JETS passing on McFadden, who falls all the way to the Patsies.

Of course, our pick...

Quote:
4. Oakland Raiders — DE Vernon Gholston, Ohio State (Jr.)
Al Davis has been and always will be a numbers guy, and Darren McFadden will certainly remain in the mix after running a blistering 40 at the Combine. However, with Tommy Kelly kicking inside full time to replace Warren Sapp, Tyler Brayton departing in free agency and Derrick Burgess having only one year left on a contract that he has outplayed, Davis needs to give more serious thought to strengthening the defensive line. Considered by some longtime evaluators to be the most naturally gifted player in the draft, Gholston should benefit from an outstanding pro-day workout that could help solidify a top-five spot.
This was probably posted elsewhere but it seemed appropriate to this conversation. I can't possibly imagine him falling to #7, but I'm sure Brady Quinn had things he couldn't imagine last year as well.

Some good points about our pick in any case...
