Bober: N.Y. Giants, 6-5, 310 lbs.—an undrafted player, called by scouts a "classic overachiever". From Nebraska-Omaha (Chris Cooper's alma mater). Played center for the Giants but could also play guard. A four-year vet, he's an unrestricted free agent.

Ive seen Bober here in NY...Over-achiever, good guy, plays hard but, may not have the natural talent! Havent heard anything about him signing though!

A definate blue collar worker. Watched him play at UNO. Great work ethic, makes up for less physical talent with xtra effort. You will never hear his name mentioned outside the game. Good pick up.

Never heard of him, but he sounds like a hard worker. I guess all the injuries last year taught us a lesson about having good depth. O-line looks pretty good if Mo and Middleton can get in shape. Come on Big Linc, one more year, PLEASE!!!

Tackle John Tait still has no regrets now that he's no longer officially with the Chiefs.

Tait became a Chicago Bear instead Friday night when the Chiefs declined to match the six-year, $34 million offer sheet Tait signed a week ago.“One chapter of my life is over, and another one is about to begin,'' Tait said. “It's exciting, but it's also bittersweet. I'll miss a lot of good friends with the Chiefs. I have a lot of good memories in Kansas City. But it's time to move on.

“I can't tell you how much this feels like the right thing.''

The Chiefs moved quickly for a replacement, agreeing to terms of a five-year, $10 million contract with Chris Bober. Bober, who played mostly at center in four seasons with the New York Giants, will be given first shot to become the starting right tackle.

With Tait gone and Bober signed, the Chiefs moved on to other pursuits. They offered a contract to Pro Bowl cornerback Troy Vincent but hadn't reached agreement as of Friday night.

The Chiefs also plan to interview two veteran wide receivers, Dez White of Chicago and Chris Cole of Denver. No visits had been scheduled for either player.
