this sounds completely bogus. It's too early to give up on Huff... he did show some signs of promise last season. Still don't think he's a SS though. I'd hang on to fabian too.

I dont think Al and Jerry will trade together specifically for the #4 overall pick because there's too much room there for one to screw the other, so they wouldn't do it because both are grizzled enough to stand-off.

If there's any trade between Al and Jerry, it would be for the Raiders looking for extra picks in the 2nd/3rd.

sounds like major BS to me, fab's and huff may not be stars YET but they are really really young and represent 2 1st round picks. no way we would give up that much value when the jury is still on both of them.

I don't know - they're buds. A lot of respect for each other.

I could see them making a player-for-player/pick trade as describe in the original post, or a #4 for their two #1's (maybe with something else thrown in).

And depending on who is off the board at #4 (e.g. our two DT options, and one of the Longs), it might make sense for us to pull the trigger on such a trade.

#4 = 1800
#22 = 780
#28 = 660
#61 = 282

So #4 (1800) for #22+#28+#61 (1722) would be close to even.

We can address a lot of need with three picks in the late-first/early-second range and an extra 2nd to boot. We should be able to pick up quality DT, OT and WR players at the top end, then use our 2nd 2nd to bolster one of these positions. Use our 4th on a SS and the rest is gravy.
