No Market For Stallworth

NO MARKET FOR STALLWORTH

A league source tells us that there's little or no interest on the open market for receiver Donte' Stallworth, whose tenure with the Patriots is ending after only one season.

A year ago, Stallworth was believed to be one of the hottest free-agent receivers on the market. After languishing on the shelf while the big money flowed, Stallworth signed a long-term contract in New England that was essentially a one-year "prove it" deal.

But Stallworth never got a chance to prove anything, because only a few weeks after he signed the Pats traded for Randy Moss.

One possible destination for Stallworth could be Minnesota, since the Vikings run the same offense as the Eagles, for whom Stallworth had a solid season in 2006. Ditto for the Buccaneers, who seem to be always on the hunt for more pass-catchers.-pft.com
The Oakland Raiders should look into this. Dont break the bank open for this guy, but for a ballclub who needs WR's, this could be a good move.
At least check into this. If they can get him at a fair/reasonable price, could be a good move. He might fit in well with JaMarcus.

I say lets jump on him if the price is cheap. He can just run streak routes all game and let Curry and who ever else catch the short stuff. With his speed and Russells arm i bet he'll get double coverage 90% of the time.Just knowing that JR can throw the ball 80 yards with ease and Stallworths speed will put fear in teams hearts.I say lets do it.

We are a team desperately in need of WR assistance.

I would be very surprised if we don't lock down at least one reasonably good FA WR by the end of March. There are lots of choices, and we should get a good one without breaking the bank. Then we have options in the draft or further in the FA to round out our squad.

I don't understand why there wouldn't be a market for him? He may not be a top five WR but he's pretty damn good.

He'd be a nice fit for JR.

I agree. IMO this would be a very nice move if we don't pay him to much.

At the same time, Stallworth would have then met Moss personally while the latter was spouting his mouth off... that may work in our favor!

definately worth a look but seriously why would anyone come to Oakland without getting BIG money, they certainly wouldn't come here for our winning organization. Only for BIG money.
