Rams to trade down?

This is just out of pure speculation but after seeing this:

Quote:
The Rams consider re-signing Steven Jackson to a long-term contract a priority.
They're trying to get restricted free agent FS O.J. Atogwe locked up first. The Rams currently have little cap room to sign Jackson and the No. 2 overall pick, but will pursue restructurings with Leonard Little and Isaac Bruce. QB Gus Frerotte, DE James Hall, and DT La'Roi Glover are cap cut candidates.

It seems they don't have the cap room to do all this. Do you think someone is going to try to jump off at a reduced price to snag someone like McFadden. I think the Jets could do it swap picks and not have to throw in much more.

To go from #6 (1600 pts) to #2 (2600 pts), the Jets would have to give up the entire rest of their draft, or a major pick next year to move up.

I couldn't find a list of all their exact picks this year, but approximating:

#36 (6th pick, 2nd round) = 520
#70 = 240
#102 = 92
#134 = 39
#166 = 26
#198 = 13.2

That doesn't add up to 1000 yet. By comparison, if they had the #16 pick next year, they could give that up (although I don't know if a pick in a following year is discounted - I imagine there's some sort of lesser value for a future pick, right?).

Doubt this will happen.
