Various rumors on the Black Pearl forum

Thanks to RaiderBR from The Black Pearl forum

This is RaiderBR views not mine

There is a poster on the website SportsRumorMill.com, Bearcatmania04 who has been posting a slew of NFL rumors and speculation, much of it Raider related. He claims to be a current NFL league scout. I have to way of verifying his information or not. My guess is that he is legit, but that he basically is repearting anything he hears, even if it is purposeful false info. He simply posts far too much information to be making it all up, some of what he says has in fact come true, and the opinion of others there was the he really did work for the NFL. He's a big Bengal fan, so most of the info is about them. But he also claims to have had dinner recently with Al Davis, and played golf with Norv Turner. Anyways, value this all at exactly what you paid for it.

Cory Dillon trade:
As of Wednesday, the Bengals were asking the Raiders for a 2nd round pick, while the Raiders had countered with an offer of a 2004 5th rounder and a conditional 2005 pick. The negotiations were held up trying to hammer out the details of the conditions on the '05 pick. At that point, Denver and their Rat showed up offering a better package. Denver needs to agree to a re-structured contract with Dillon before they could make the trade however, and the guy feels that Al will scoop him up before that can happen. The Bengals in turn are somewhat under the gun to make the deal, because they want to clear cap room so they can sign Troy Vincent on Sunday.

Rich Gannon:
He originally said Gannon would be a cap casualty as some point but has now done a 180 from that opinion. He says Al constantly sends out false information and the story of releasing Gannon was part of that. Makes sense to me because if the Raiders are planning on cutting Rich, then they would have to be looking QB in the draft. It's advantageous at this point for other teams to think this.

Just my personal opinion, I think we can just about write Gannons name in pen at this point as the Raiders 2004 QB. From this report, the interviews I heard from Gannon himself, and the fact that there is little if any cap benefit to cutting him all lead me to believe that Gannon is the man, at least for one more season.

Woodson:
Guy says negotiations with Charles have gone absolutely nowhere. Claims Woodson wants a larger contract than Bailey, and that the Raiders are once again considering exploring trade possibilities.

Also claimed that a few weeks ago the Raiders had considered trading Woodson to the Titans for Henson and Tony Hollings.

Other Speculation:
Prior to the open of free agency, he claimed the Raiders were preparing a large offer to bring Warren Sapp to Oakland.

Originally had the Raiders looking at Gallery, but now says the San Diego will take him with the top pick. Says the Raiders now have their sights set on BMW.

Says Denver is preparing to offer their #1 and both #2's to the Giants and Cards in hopes of grabbing Winslow at the top of the draft before the Skins take him at 5.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Some of it is quite funny It made me chuckle
More and likely total BS but let you guys decide

IMO,
I think he's right to some extent about the Woodson issue, the Denver issue, and even the Dillion Issue. I don't believe he's right about Gannon though. I don't think that issue has entirely played out. As for the Sapp issue maybe
