Lightbulb Dungy out, Caldwell in

Quote:
A league source tells us that Colts coach Tony Dungy will step down, and that assistant head coach/quarterbacks coach Jim Caldwell will take the reins.

More to come.

Wow! I know it was speculated that it would happen, but it's still shocking.

I wonder if it's that Dungy is tired of Manning's ****..

You know Manning runs that team anyway, and it's no surprise that the quarterbacks coach is the one getting promoted..

Hard to say, but he did mention needing to be a more involved father. And with what happened to his son I could believe that's the reason.

Last night I read Dungy himself saying that his son's (James, I think) death would not be a factor. It would be about his two remaining high school aged children, and that was his reasons for even contemplating retirement.

He stated he wasn't burned out, far from it actually but that being a father was his first job and coaching second.

That's the reason I want him to stay, he seems like a class act in a league full of assholes.

By destroying the validity of ideas evolution undercuts even the idea of evolution.

I think his wife and children asked him to step down to spend time with the family. Can't blame them. That is a hard life and its not like he needs the money anymore.
