Exclamation Chad Johnson wants to leave the Bengals ?

Since I know some Raider fans want the guy (not me included) I just wanted to pass on the news

http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm

Two weeks ago, Bengals receiver Chad Johnson unzipped his lip on Sirius NFL Radio, suggesting to Adam Schein and Ross Tucker that it might be time for the team to move him.

The campaign continued on Friday, when Johnson pulled the same routine on ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike in the Morning.

"I was labeled selfish and a cancer, and it hurt," he said. "Fingers were pointed at me this year. If the team and the organization wants to further itself, I think you need to get rid of the problem.

"It hurt me. To do me that way and not to have my back. Things were said, and nobody came to my defense."

There's no denying that Johnson is a supreme talent. But the beginning of the end came two years ago, when a halftime tantrum during a playoff game against the Steelers disrupted the team's efforts to get ready for the final 30 minutes of a game that they were leading.

Anyone who might be interested in Johnson would have to be willing to take the risk that he'll piss and moan if he doesn't get the ball as much as he thinks he should.

Well we've known he wanted to leave, the question is can we get him? if he can be had for some players like: fabian and or LJ id do it. But since we dont have a 3rd and our 2nd rounder is just too much to give up at this point, i dont think we'll get him.

The guy just turned 30 and even though I like watching his antics after he scores TDs I just don't want another WR asking to be traded in 2 years and if he isn't getting catches he will be all up in Russell's face like he is always in Carson's face.

Russell would pimp slap that little ****. "Get out my face biatch! I'll get you the ball when I'm damn well ready to." LOL!! Carson isn't anywhere near the size of J. Rock. That fool will demand respect. I feel his quiet condidence is liked by his team mates. It seems that he had a calm demeanor, and good leadership of the O from what I saw in SD. Oh wait, this was supposed to be a thread about C. Johnson? My bad... Ok, to change gears, if we can get Johnson with a deal that doesn't break the bank and gut us of picks, then I'm all for it. Although ocho sinco has a huge ego and he is going to be looking for a FAT payday. I don't think it will be in the cards, but if Al wants him, Al will probably get him.

We are not ready as an org. to take on Chad Johnson.

Yes, I know;
1. Russell needs a playmaker to enhance his growth
2. the offense needs a big play WR and a true #1 to add more dynamics to the attack
3. Curry, Miller are the only two viable targets in our scheme right now, and Johnson's presence could help both...

But,
1. We are a losing bunch. Coming off 4-wins, and lets be honest; have a lot of holes to fill. Johnson, a hard worker and a guy who really has shown in the past is dedicated to football will be going to losing, to more losing. He is boisterous and when you are trying to build like the Raiders are, a move like this may not be one you make. Johnson wil fit better IMO on a team that is on the cusp of winnning, is 1 or 2 pieces away from being a contender or a team that is already strong, that has already good leaders and just looking to re-tool that can handle big personalities.
2. As much as I like Chad, the last thing I want is a guy who gets back to the huddle everytime and say, "I was open, I was open, I was open...get me the ball..." to a QB who is learnign to play the game. Yes, he [Chad] grew up with Palmer, and Palmer was not estabished when he took over. But Chad is now an established big time WR. He is not the up-and-comer he once was. And he wants to command the ball now and his mind-sight could be detrimental...

Look, all the negatives may not come to fruition. But we dont know that. And right now, as much as I would love to add one of my fav. WRs to this roster, I dont think we can risk it. Especially if they are going to ask for a lot of compensation. We need a lot of talent...

I say draft Early Doucet out of LSU in the 2nd round and concentrate on the Dfense and a OT in free agency. and be done with it. JRuss knows this kid and I think it would be a great pickup. If McFadden is sitting there when we pick in the 1st round I say pull the trigger, the kid is to good to pass up.

forget OCHO they will not let him go for free and they will want all the money in the bank and the bank its self for him. He is a cancer that we do not need right now. He will only be happy catch 100 balls a year and winning. And sorry were not gonna put up huge number next year. So why get wrapped up in another self centered WR and waste any money on him.

Completely makes sense but you forgot one denominator in this thing....Al Davis.

he fits the mold Al likes in a reciever. Make no mistake, if Al can get him he will go after him.

I agree...it is an Al move. I never disputed that. But, Al moves don't always mean they will work. And Al 'type' moves need to be curtailed unless they make absolute sense these days.

'Splash' moves need to be dealt with carefully, as NOW you are dealing with a completely different dynamic -- a young QB, which you invested a dump load of money in, that will minimally take 3-4 years of development or at least 5 of complete commitment whether we know he is a bust or a guy that will thrive. And when you are making moves that can have a domino effect towards his development, your treading on treacherous waters. Its important that they realize the outcomes or possibe outcomes, good and bad for all their moves now that you are commiting to a guy at QB who will either set you back for years or keep you afloat for several years. Its sink or swim with JaMarcus...and yes he needs a surrounding cast. But that surrounding cast better come with the full intention of helping this team BUILD.

Where is the 'D'.....I think 'D' is a must for the Raiders early in this years draft....plus why would you take Doucet in the 2nd, he will end up being a #2 at best???

i like the idea on Madden but thats it. i agree w/ the majority that the chances of him being happen if he's not winning and getting the ball a lot a very high. love to have ya ocho but just stay out of the afc west.
