Pats Upset...possible Tampering

The defending champion Patriots sustained a big hit to their staunch defense Wednesday when run-stuffing DT Ted Washington chose to sign with the Raiders instead of returning to New England. The 36-year-old Washington reportedly signed with Oakland for four years and $14 million, with a $4 million signing bonus. The signing apparently has irked the Pats, who were led to believe they were the only ones negotiating with Washington and his Oakland-based agent, Angelo Wright. There may be accusations of tampering, since Wednesday’s edition of the Contra Costa Times quoted a Raiders executive as saying Oakland was expected to sign Washington Wednesday, the first day of free agency. There may be more to this story, including a league investigation, in the days to come. … New England re-signed WR J.J. Stokes Wednesday. He had ended the season with the team after being cut by Jacksonville in midseason.

its awesome to stick one to the patriots. i hope they are not serious about investigating the Raiders for tampering. we all know The Godfather of lawsuits will eat them alive. The Pats are just crying foul because they've lost a big part of their D.

And saying that they thought that they we the only one negotiating with Washington. This is Free agency mugs. Again all it takes is a phone call to the Raiders

It clearly says that Ted wanted to be a Raider. He must respect Ryan a lot. Ted could have went back to the pats and said I have had an offer from Oakland can you match or beat it. But he did not HE WANTED TO BE A RAIDER

"Payback for the Tuck Rule." HELLO!, The Raiders BLEW a 10 point lead. Losing that game had nothing to do with any rule or Tom Brady. It had everything to do with the HC at the time though. Thank you Jon, THEY still love you, Man!

Your right Breed, the Raiders did blow a lead and could have put the game away with a 3rd Down conversion around mid field with little time in the game but didn't. Probably would have put the game away with a decent punt and coverage after we missed the 3rd down but didn't. However we DID put the game away with a big defensive play by C-Wood that turned the ball back over to the Raiders.

Insert Tuck Rule/Walt Coleman here and you know the rest.

What the hell are they Bitching about - I didn't see them bitching about the league tampering with the outcome sorry sack playoff game given to them by the league - Ohh gee thats right they got a ring out of the deal.

My thoughts on their bitching

My suggestion to the Pats - get over it - we did with the "Tuck Rule" move on cry babies

The Pat's are not man enough to hold a Raider Nation Jock Strap.
