HE is a good O-coord...it might have been Grudens team but he was there with Gurden the entire time and put that offense in. Yes he didnt change the offense but why should he have? What was the odds that he would face TB in the SB. That Offense is what got us to 3 AFC Championship games and the SB. Once we made it to the SB and Faced TB it was to late to change it...you can't change your offense in two weeks before the SB.
Look at SD they still run the same offense that Norv Turner put in back when he was the O-cord there...they didnt change it when Norv became the Raiders Coach...they just exicuted the game plan against us....that is what we failed to do in the SB...he has taken way to much blame for that SB loss IMO. The loss of B Robbins had more to do with the loss than him not changing the offense...you can not lose your Pro bowl center (QB of the O-line) the night before the SB and think you are going to win. |

You are right 2 AFC C games...tuck rule took away one...was 3 AFC west Championships.....I am sure that they did change things, but I think the loss of B Robbins and the fact they we were just out played that day is the reason we loss.

Just do it, Chefs!
And while you're at it, why don't you sign Jeff George as your new QB? A buddy who's a big Husker fan gave me a lot of crap about losing the 2002 SuperBowl until he ended up being on the receiving end of Callahan's firing in Oakland. That was worth a couple years of retribution on my part. I will laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh if this plays out. Callahan is a professional bozo. Hahahahahaaahahahahhhahahahah.

I remember Lynch and company astonished by the fact we hadn't changed a single thing about our offense. They knew exactly which plays we were running. If the Bucs could be taught our offensive scheme in the same period to the point they could immediately recognize on the field what play we were running, why couldn't we be taught a few change-ups to it? It was a stupid move, period.

Although I agree with most that Callahan is way overrated, he did not have 2 weeks to rpepare for TB in Super Bowl. That was one of the years the NFL was experimenting with only one week break between conference championships and Super Bowl due to the media complaints regarding the dead week.
However we still should have run the ball more that game. If TB had a weakness that year it was the their ability to handle a power running game. Of course Robbins being AWOL did have a lot to do with the game plan at the last minute. If Callahan goes to KC, you will see much more passing from them. Their O will be more dynamic in terms of their play calling, and their RBs will be bigger threats in the passing game.
